Change response to a negative review
Good morning,
I received an unjustified review and wrote a public response to it.
Now the buyer has changed the review - still not correct - to neutral.
Now my response is underneath it, which no longer fits.
How can this be changed?
kind regards

Good morning @theparfumshop,
thank you very much for your post.
A reply to a review cannot be changed, as @bootyooty wrote. We also cannot change your reply.
@oskar_der_wikinger Thanks for tagging 🤗
Best regards
Selina

OP5 months agoHello Selina,
thanks for the reply.
But why not? That surely happens thousands of times a day
I’ve known Ebay since 1999 but such unproductive changes must have passed me by.

I also took a look at the other bad reviews from you now, I hadn't done that before.
I have to say that you also have a problem with your choice of words in your replies.
1. Liars have short legs.
2. As you call into the woods, so it echoes back.
3. You can tell from the text when someone isn't quite clear anymore.
4. You should be able to read.
I don't expect such remarks from a serious, fair seller.
You don't have to put up with everything, but you like to go too far sometimes.

OP5 months agoYou may well be right. But these are always cases that really get on my nerves.
I know what we ship. I know what goods we have.
If we make a mistake, then that’s how it is.
But if we do nothing wrong and then get dragged down by buyers like this
that makes me angry and sad at the same time.
I’ve been doing eBay since 1999, or Alando since 1997, and I’ve always fought
against injustice

·5 months agoBut you’re fighting this injustice on the back of your business, and it’s not really a fight either, because you’re not changing anything.
The words in the comments have to be chosen very carefully, finely dosed criticism, subtle hints, it has to be thought through and worked out well.
I first wrote down the comments and refined them over a few days. That way, the initial anger, the first irritation, also subsides and clear thoughts come back.

·5 months agoI'm not Selina, but that was never a change, I've been here since 2003 @theparfumshop , in the forums since 2006 - mostly the feedback forum back then, and in my opinion supplementary comments have never been able to be deleted, so nothing unproductive either.

·5 months agoHello @theparfumshop
I have to add to what @bootyooty said regarding the removal of replies and additional comments.
I have also been active here for over twenty years and can confirm that as well.
The only removals of such comments that I know of are when the ratings are removed entirely. Then everything is gone.
theparfumshop
OP5 months agoIt was definitely possible before.
You were also still allowed to leave negative feedback for buyers.
And I was also very active in the forum, but only in the Powerseller forum. That hasn’t existed for a long time either
Too bad you can’t edit the text anymore. And that the 30-day limit was abolished.

·5 months agoHello @theparfumshop as far as I know, additional comments can no longer be changed.
Whether yours can be deleted after your call, you'll have to try. PS: Please be careful with statements about what is "punishable" and "lied", these accusations would actually be of criminal relevance, but to your detriment, not that of the buyer!
theparfumshop
OP5 months agoThanks for the reply.
So the buyer is allowed to write fake?
Even though I can provide all the documents from the manufacturer?
That’s a lie and also punishable by law.
Why can you even still leave a review after 7 weeks? Wasn’t it 30 days before?
bootyooty
·5 months ago@theparfumshop the review period was even 90 days until May 2008, since then 60 days, never 30.
And... additional comments can still be added after months/years.
As for the already revised comment "counterfeit", I can't say anything about that, since it was edited. 😉
But surely you could have had this post deleted "through legal action" with proof.

·5 months agoHello @theparfumshop ,
You can leave a review 60 days after receiving the item.
oskar_der_wikinger
·5 months agoHello @theparfumshop
your reply no longer fits the review, it also violates the guidelines, and it already did before.
Maybe employee @selina_b@ebay has an idea; she’ll chime in here.
Otherwise, you’ll just have to report the comment yourself.
