File a complaint with the ECC to stop the wrongdoing here
Summary: A discussion about filing a complaint with the ECC to stop malpractice, but the content of the messages is not available.
A certain German seller makes it a sport to report people he has cheated as non-paying bidders, unjustly, if they leave him negative feedback. He even goes so far as to openly accuse people of crimes and threaten lawsuits in the feedback.
This seller can just do that, with eBay's knowledge. Personally, I think that goes too far and that buyer protection on this site leaves a lot to be desired. Anyone without PayPal can be perfectly scammed and eBay can pretend not to notice.
This is the response to the email I sent, in other words: we should all start sending emails:
Dear Ms. XXX,
Our apologies for this late response. We are experiencing a backlog in the handling of our cases.
I have read your email. We take note of these facts.
As you probably know, we are only authorized to seek amicable solutions in specific disputes between a consumer and a trader who are located in different EU member states. Since this is a general complaint, we will not take any action for the time being. However, if several similar problems are reported, we will not fail to address eBay about this.
If you believe you have been scammed via the internet, you can always file a complaint via www.ecops.be.
In the hope that I have helped you,
Kind regards,
Ellen Lefevre

It is high time eBay is made aware of its responsibilities and stops covering for certain people. In addition, I think it is unfair that the usernames of scammers are censored here. It is clear who is being protected here.
