Problem occurred with a payout from EBAY to 2 different checking accounts
Hello EBAY sellers,
I have 2 Ebay accounts linked to 2 separate current accounts at 2 different BELGIAN banks.
For almost 2 months now, I have been getting the following email from EBAY every evening:
"There was a problem sending your payout.
Your payout failed, but we’re working on it
| Dear X, |
Your payout on 17 Oct 2024 for the amount of EUR XXX was sent back by your bank because your account cannot be verified. We’re trying to send your payout again. Please check that the bank account details you provided are correct. If in doubt, contact your bank." |
The details of both bank accounts are absolutely correct!! Both current accounts also work perfectly fine otherwise!
The last successful payout by EBAY dates from 3 September this year.
I would therefore like to know whether any of you sellers are experiencing the same problem. I’d appreciate a response from your side if this is the case for you too

I have exactly the same problem.Everything worked perfectly until September 3.Now I’m no longer getting any payouts...
Got the exact same emails. It’s frustrating that you can’t get to your money with perfect accounts.
Basically we can no longer use eBay,because no solution is being offered. In the meantime our money is stuck in a hopeless loop.

OP1 year agoHello nostravandamus,
The problem seems to be with the security regulations at BNP PARIBAS FORTIS!! Apparently they were changed after September 3, which is why EBAY payouts have been rejected since then!!
I linked 1 of my 2 accounts to a checking account at a bank other than BNP PARIBAS FORTIS, and since October 11 the payouts have been going to that other checking account!!
The payouts to the checking account at BNP PARIBAS FORTIS, however, are still being sent back by the bank to EBAY to this day.
I just contacted BNP PARIBAS FORTIS by phone. The advisor couldn’t find any cause for the repayments to EBAY either. So the only solution is to close the BNP checking account and link a checking account at another (=better!) bank than BNP PARIBAS FORTIS to your EBAY account. This is really still the only way to receive your money from EBAY!!!

·1 year agoHello Dima6805,
Thanks for this explanation. It is indeed a BNP Parisbas card that is now causing problems. Before, it was a Bpost card (without any problems). Due to Bpostbank being taken over by BNP Parisbas, there would now be problems receiving eBay funds on this renewed card. Recently, because it had not caused any problems for quite some time.
eBay itself says that the BIC code no longer matches. The account number has stayed the same, but it turns out that the BIC code is now causing a mismatch.
Indeed, eBay advises linking a card from another bank.
But if you’re not already with another bank anyway, it seems crazy to me to open another checking account just for eBay, with all the associated costs.
Still, thanks for the info. Food for thought...
