Free Shipping or calculate shipping costs separately?
I have been selling on Ebay since 2002, and sales have never been as bad as they are now.
The last Q4 was also much quieter than in other years.
That will partly be due to the financial situation in the world (inflation, for example).
My listings are fine, so it won't be because of that.
Most of my buyers come from the US.
The idea came to me to start offering free shipping and to factor the shipping costs into the price of the item. The thinking behind this is that free shipping appeals quite a lot to Americans.
But yes, now I sell something for $30 and would have to charge $20 shipping for it.
Then the price of the item would be $40.
Doesn't that scare off potential buyers?
The price is still the first thing they see, and then $30 versus $50 is quite a big difference.
What do you think about this? Does anyone have experience with it?
