Accepted lower price proposal, but when paying I see the higher price!
Summary: wolkenzee discusses an issue where they accepted a lower price offer, but upon attempting to pay, the higher price is displayed. wolkenzee and vacheron_nl both post responses, although these responses contain no additional content in this thread.
I was offered an item for GBP 35.00, which is a discount because the original price was GBP 42.35. When I wanted to pay, the higher price was shown. The seller says they will only receive GBP 35.00, but I have to pay more (ex. VAT, ex shipping), the old higher price. That just isn’t right. In the attachments you can see 2 images. Image 1: here it says GBP 35.00 , but after clicking on "pay now" I get the second screen showing the old price. How can this be and how do I fix it?

·5 months agoThat's right; this is 21% VAT. On arrival in the Netherlands, import duties are added, and those costs are handled via PostNL (depending on which shipping company the seller uses).
The seller does not use the margin scheme because he is based in the UK (outside the EU); so he has to charge VAT.

OP5 months agoI guess it must be V.A.T. (Value Added Tax), apparently it is not enough that you pay VAT once, but again and again when you sell it second hand. CRAZY!!
