Sold by mistake, but the item had already been sold elsewhere
Hi, I hope someone can help me because I’m getting really nervous now.
I had posted an item here thinking it was some kind of marketplace. You could bid, and if you agreed and the buyer wanted it, you could mark it as sold.
So I had posted the item a while ago but sold it elsewhere on another site.
I had forgotten it was listed on eBay.
Now I’m getting an email that the item has been sold. I’m freaking out.
I had no idea the buyer could pay right away.
What am I supposed to do now? And I can cancel the payment, but will that cost me money now? I’m not waiting for this because it’s quite a lot of money.
Can someone advise me? My bank details aren’t linked yet.
But all my other details like name and address are

·2 years agoYes, ebay is indeed an auction and not a marketplace.
The buyer has apparently already paid.
What you can do (and you can figure that out yourself too, ebay has dozens of help pages) is go to help and contact"" and then "resolve transaction problems" You can then indicate e.g. "is no longer available" or "is damaged" or something like that,
Then immediately the behavior "refund" (pay back) (sold on ebay com or on ebay.nl ?)
Then hope that everything works out
