shameful that they charge almost 20% in fees
We have had things for the train set on ebay for a very long time. Had to switch to ebay payments now. But I really think this is outrageous. They just keep almost 20% in fees. Can they just do that? And what shocks me most is that they can just manage my bank account. and simply deduct another 5 euro cents. Don’t I have to give permission for that. I am very shocked

·2 years agoWhat’s the alternative? There are no other platforms with a comparable reach. Of course, you can have your own webshop set up (or set one up yourself). But that’s definitely not free either. Chances are you’ll pay the same or more. And then there’s still the very big question of whether you’ll reach potential customers on the scale that is now the case via eBay. Especially if it’s about international customers. Think about how much you’d have to pay Google Ads to get onto the first page of search results.
In short: Is it (too) expensive? Yes. Is there a good alternative? No.
