I'm sure it's reading the latest report about the upcoming "almost" total solar eclipse in Germany, oh what am I saying .... in Europe ......

and all the things you have to watch out for so you don't end up with eye damage .....

A regular pair of sunglasses won't cut it !!!

......Well then ... special glasses are a must! 😎

And never, really

never

look directly at the sun .....

So off to the nearest optician or the nearest observatory to get hold of a copy....

Because we won't get to experience an event like this again until at least 2075, if we're even still alive then....

The Neighbor's Window

Phil. 2, 4.

Let each man look not to

his own, but to what belongs to

his neighbor.

How the sun, the lovely one, kissed me

so kindly awake this early morn,

and filled with shining gold

my room through the whole forenoon;

transfigured the greening tendrils

at the window into pure emerald,

kindled my thoughts

to a lively, living rhythm!

Now she has slowly, along the heavenly arch,

moved over the roof for me

toward evening, with quiet steps,

and sunless stands my room.

Already it is dusk in the room and growing dark,

daylight is fading away,

yet over there at the neighbor's it sparkles,

as if his window were ruby.

The panes, facing west,

are kindled by a purple beam,

which the departing sun still bestows

into the evening-dimming valley.

And me, in the shadowy cell,

turned toward the darkening east,

the rosy glow illumines,

which over there transfigures the window. –

So rejoice in happy fortune,

even if it sinks past your house;

enjoy your neighbor's happiness,

as if it were your own!

And when your day bends to wander on,

``and you have resolved your task, --

thank God that grace still ignites

the eyes and hearts of others!

Finally a little break from the constantly excessively high temperatures.

It won't last long --- but still .....

Germany procrastinates on every crisis,

but when you yourself procrastinate on your tax return or something,

then suddenly they're completely capable of action

with late fees and a SEK squad on the roof

And we all know how heat can paralyze .....

Good morning, dear ones.....,

Unrested and sleepless, yes, because of the heat that refused to let up,

but

we survived the severe thunderstorm and the gusts of wind last night, without it tearing off our roof and without having to search for our belongings scattered around in the wild.......

Outside temperature 22 degrees, living room still at 28, trend rising ......

And that isn`t getting any better, or cooler, ----

we`ve got another hot day ahead of us today too .....

I`ve been awake since 02: 39 and haven`t been able to fall asleep again.🙄

Definitely not enough sleep ......

What do you do then?
