Technical questions about eBay now (also) here in the café?
Hello everyone!
Since yesterday, these requests/topics have been landing here in the café as well. At the moment there are seven such topics.. Is there a special reason for that? Maybe the questioners can’t find/access the more suitable categories/boards?
Are such topics moved?

OP8 hours ago · EditedThe reason why topics like this often end up in the Café at the moment is probably that members looked at the "Overview" when they started a new topic: https://community.ebay.de/feed/
For "Question" you have to select the right category, for "Topic" you don't have that option and that's why new topics are automatically created in the Café.

·6 days agoHey @stubenkram
that was a pretty bad example you picked. If the OP no longer responds to the reply from an eBay staff member after 5 days, then for me at least the matter is settled as a mentor. No matter which forum section the post was placed in.

OP6 days agoHello @petersmodellbahnstuebchen
In my opinion, it really wasn’t chosen that badly. Since I only wrote “technical questions” in the topic title, a week ago I had linked to a topic where it wasn’t about a “technical problem” and that was just about to “slip through the cracks”.
Hello @dmary56
The café is actually not that easy to find, if you’re stumbling around helplessly as someone seeking help and don’t know where to put your concern. You have to click through until you end up in the café. That’s why I was also a bit surprised by these topics.

·6 days agoHi @stubenkram
That’s why I wrote that the example was poorly chosen, because the OP no longer responds after 5 days. For me as a mentor, a post like that is then done and dusted.
If you reply to such a post as an eBay member, it moves back up and the eBay staff or the mentors can respond again if action is needed.
If you think that’s not the case, you’re always welcome to contact @steffi@ebay . She can move the post to the correct subforum.
But in other areas too, the post moves back down again if no feedback comes in.

OP6 days agoYes, sure Peter. I had already understood you correctly.

OP5 days ago · Edited....but I’m wondering right now whether you understood me correctly?
I created this topic here on August 29 and, in my second post here on the same day, added a link to a topic in which a new seller had asked a question. It was his first post in the community. I can’t answer the question he asked, so of course I don’t write in his topic either. (Edit: At that point there was still no response to his request.)
Two days later, a mentor noticed this seller’s topic and tagged an eBay employee, who then wrote him a reply as well.
But as of today, I myself still haven’t received any answer/response from a mentor/employee about whether the misplaced topics from the Café will be moved to more suitable boards.
Instead, you write to me that with my link I had “chosen an arguably very poor example,” because the seller didn’t come back after receiving an answer.
Are you sure that a new member here would even find a topic that went two days without any response? I’m not. But I don’t mean to say that you should write there now. I had already understood your explanations on that.
It’s not my job to point out unnoticed topics or even write anything in them just so they attract attention from the mentors/employees. It would never occur to me in a million years to contact Steffi, or tag her, so that she takes care of something.

·5 days agoHi @stubenkram
unfortunately, your link to this post seems to have been deleted by the moderation team, for whatever reason.
I did understand you correctly. But, as already written, when an OP is contacted by an employee, they receive a message containing a link to their post. If they click on it, they land in the post. If there are any questions left open, they can reply at any time without having to search for their post again.
For me personally, that means the matter is then settled.
As for moving posts to other forum areas / subforums, that's not really our topic as mentors either. That's the topic of @steffi@ebay , as long as @patrick@ebay is away.

OP5 days ago · EditedAll right, Peter.
My link was not deleted here. It is still there, in the 3rd post in the thread:

·6 days ago · EditedHello and @lidor3073 and @stubenkram
It has always been the case that topics ended up in the Café that don’t belong there, because the thread starters simply chose the wrong board.
Of course, the downside is that questions go unanswered.
The name "Community Help and Dialogue" also sounds very inviting 😉
and then especially the Café
In the past, moderation would always move such threads to the right category from time to time... maybe that still works if you point out such "strays"...

OP2 weeks agoOh no @lidor3073 You're getting me wrong there. I do know that I'm sometimes "uncomfortable" and difficult, but I don't want to make extra work for anyone.
Incorrectly posted topics sometimes really irritate me. But I started this topic here mainly because some inquiries about Ebay could quickly be "written off" here and then slip down the list. For example, this one:
https://community.ebay.de/forum/ebay-café-19/topic/konto-einschränk-verifizierung-und-alles-ordnungsgemäß-gemacht-12549/

·2 weeks agoUhhh, some people might consider that uncomfortable. But that’s what we want. ☺️ At least point out things that seem contradictory to US. 😉👍
