🗨 Welcome to the general eBay Q&A on 02/03/22
Hello everyone!
Thank you very much for your participation in the eBay Q&A session with the eBay Community Team.
Since we don’t have a specific topic this week, please don’t hesitate to ask your general buying or selling questions here. To help us answer your questions more quickly, we ask that you post one question per post. Of course, you’re welcome to post as many contributions as you like in the eBay Q&A session - in fact, we encourage it!
The Q&A session will remain open until 3:00 PM. After that, it will be closed for further questions. Of course, we will continue to make sure that all questions that may still be unanswered are answered – please give us a little time for that 🙏.
To ask your question, click Reply in the lower right corner of this post, enter your question, and click “Reply” between 2:00 PM and 3:00 PM. The format of the eBay Q&A session reflects the format of our community discussion forums, where all posts appear chronologically. The Community Team answers each incoming question in that order and then quotes the original question in the respective answer. This quote and the answer appear later chronologically and therefore further down.
Questions that we can’t answer directly during the session will be handled by us with a link to the answer.
If you unfortunately missed the eBay Q&A session, we’d be happy if you posted your question directly in the Community, or simply waited until the next Q&A session.
Kind regards
Your eBay Community Team

·4 years agoThis is about items for which, as a GVK on eBay, you need special permission, such as
masks, tests, or even adult toys and the like.
Why doesn’t eBay introduce a logo here for the selected sellers so that as a buyer you can see right away whether the sale is approved?
Just a thought...
patrick@ebay
Hello @devlinvanhorn ,
basically definitely not a bad idea, but then it would probably also have to be implemented worldwide. eBay reviews offers that were not posted by authorized sellers or where it happens without permission.
I’ll take in your feedback like that and see where we can share it best, so it gets the appropriate attention.
Best regards

·4 years agoNew invoice printing; unfortunately, as of today it is no longer possible for me to print my invoices as usual.
Previously, as a small business owner, net amount and consecutive invoice number, just as it should be!
As of today, packing slip/invoice: either 0% VAT is shown in words WITH consecutive invoice number, or just the purchase amount but WITHOUT consecutive invoice number.
Even with the help of customer service, no solution was found.
0% VAT must not be shown like this.
This problem already existed once when Ebay switched, but then changed back again.
miriam@ebay
Hello @decoupage-art1! The VAT details can be deactivated on the invoice, so no VAT will be shown on the invoice. To do this, please click “Customize” in the “Invoice/Packing slip” area and remove the checkmark next to “VAT details” on the right-hand side in the “Tax information” area. Does that work for you?
We collect your feedback regarding the changes and pass it on daily. You are also welcome to use this topic to share your experiences with us in the future:Update on the new packing slips and invoice documents

·4 years agoThanks for your reply, but that's the crux of the matter: I did remove the checkmark, but then the running invoice number disappears, and that's necessary too.
decoupage-art1
·4 years agoIf I don't remove the checkmark, it works for me with the sequential invoice number.
miriam@ebay
I understand, I’ll look into this with the specialized teams after the Q&A session, and as soon as I know more, I’ll add my response here.
*Update*: The behavior you described is known to us, and the responsible teams are already working on a solution.
Thanks for the valuable report! 🙂
Best regards

·4 years agoHello Miriam, normally I only read here in the community. However, something has been on my mind for some time now. Maybe someone could suggest an idea here for a positive change for once.
It's about the number of items you can set as a business seller. I use the Top-Shop with 2500 items, and I'm soon reaching the limit there too. Wouldn't it be a nice update to increase the number of items business sellers can list with the various shops? After all, private sellers get a decent chunk as a free allowance to begin with, and on top of that, items on revocation end are not deducted from the free allowance, so I've already found several private-business sellers here with over 500 / 1000 items. As a business seller, you're at a clear disadvantage. But an adjustment would also be nice for the customer base lost since the introduction of ZA, oh what am I saying, it would be delightful :). If you look at the development of the shop packages, so far only the price has gone up. eBay should also be able to keep up with other platforms. Oldthing is unlimited in number and costs nothing as far as the shop is concerned. **bleep** also has a higher number, and even if neither example has the reach, that's already embarrassing for eBay. Since, moreover, due to increased risk, foreign sales have been completely discontinued, that should be reason enough to reconsider the packages. That more items means more revenue hardly needs mentioning. An upgrade to a higher tier is not an option for me at least. The drop in sales is becoming more noticeable week by week, so you're not thinking about expansion at the same time. So having more items you can list than private sellers is already a positive signal and, how should I put it, a "tiny" thank you to the loyal sellers who are still left to you. I'm also already thinking about closing the doors here at the end of the shop subscription if eBay can't finally do something good. Constant price increases and obligations have nothing to do with carrot and stick anymore. So far, sellers here only feel the stick. I want my carrot already 🙂
Many lovely greetings

There’s been more lately in the forum than the two shown above!

·4 years agoIt was already difficult with abroad before the ZA change, because in cases Ebay.Com always stepped in. They don't even read through the cases; it's always decided in favor of the customers.
My best case was a glass necklace in coral look, which was also described as glass in the title and in the text. It was an antique, and then brought in €50 + shipping. Went to China. The customer then messaged a few weeks later by email that the necklace was only made of glass 🙂
I agreed, since that was how it was described. Another week later, when the case was opened, the necklace was made of plastic. Just like that, the customer had the money and the goods + shipping costs. Since then, no sales abroad !!
You’ve already gone over the fact a few times here that with the new ZA it’s even easier to shop here for free. 🙂 So I feel fully confirmed in my opinion of the enforcement. Here in Germany you could try it too, only here there’s still the police and legal protection that kicks in...
miriam@ebay
Hello @passionepassato and glad you're getting involved! 🙂
Of course, you could set up many more offers in your Top-Shop; you would just need to apply for an increase in the selling limits. However, the number of fixed-price offers without an insertion fee per month is currently limited to 2500 items. I want to assure you that we will pass your feedback on internally to the right place, and thank you for your valuable contribution.
It would be a shame if we lost you as a seller, and I would wish for you to get your just reward in the future 😉.
Kind regards
Miriam

·4 years agoShouldn’t one simply allow longer shipping times or claim periods for shipments abroad? In addition, there’s also Corona and other obstacles.

Hello @Anonymous ,
things like this are always very difficult to answer during the Q&A session. In both cases, the recommendation would be to contact customer service before too much time passes or to add eBay. Especially regarding shipping to the USA, there are also factors such as how it works with UPS or FedEx, etc. Such cases are always better handled by customer service, where the colleagues can make much more of a difference.

·4 years agoYes, then the horse has already bolted, or rather the item is already unreachable and “gone.” Afterwards, first paypal.com and then ebay. de, through the new buyer protection, takes the money away from you, perfect for the new great shopping experience. The seller gets left holding the bag.
Conversely, the concealment of Chinese and other Asian sellers is perfect; there’s no great shopping experience there or later customer service. Let’s see where ebay will end up in the future with its active members?!
patrick@ebay
Hello @Anonymous ,
I’ll take another look at it in peace and quiet, and maybe also have it checked to see how much can still be salvaged, if anything. Both cases are somewhat special cases.
Thanks for your note.

I know that something like this isn’t forbidden.
But does it have to be?
Only users who know every trick can really buy here anymore.
Doesn’t eBay itself wonder why there are fewer and fewer users here?

Hello @Anonymous! We are following this post as well as the topic that keeps coming up here from time to time, and will pass your feedback regarding the naming on internally afterward.
In general, it is important to eBay that sellers stick to their item location information, since ultimately the sellers' origin has no impact on the service and the product itself. The "item location" field must not contain confusing, false, inaccurate, or misleading information. In the event of a return, this would result in unexpected additional costs for buyers. Many merchants from abroad already have a warehouse in Germany in order to guarantee fast delivery times and low shipping costs.
Thanks for bringing this observation to our attention here once again! 🙂
Kind regards
