Why was the report reason "Buyer claims not to have received the item although, according to tracking, it was delivered" removed from "Report buyer"?

Hello everyone,
there are sure to be a whole lot of small and tiny sellers on eBay. Many are complaining about declines in sales.
At the moment there seem to be only 2 focused groups, the preferred megasellers with special conditions and private sellers. Lately I've seen a lot of advertising with "...Selling is now free for private sellers on eBay".
As we can also see in today's Q&A, the private seller pays attention to reporting thresholds, grabs everything they can and then disappears.

Could eBay not also put small sellers and businesses in general at the forefront of advertising once in a while?
For example, along the lines of: "... here are thousands with great offers, although more expensive than other sellers, they are fighting for their existence. Support our paying members for once. There is a XX€ voucher for purchases from a small business seller..." or something along those lines.

A diverse marketplace thrives on merchants like you and it is a shame that you currently feel that smaller sellers like you are not being taken into account in our advertising.

I would like to know exactly which data is transmitted to the tax office. I’m a private seller, and this year I’ve had over 30 sales with current revenue of about €1700. Is the revenue also reported, regardless of the amount?

We’ll inform you when you have reached the reporting threshold (over EUR 2,000 in revenue or over 30 sales) and then ask you for your tax identification number (IdNr.).

We transmit this IdNr. together with additional information about you, such as your name, address, revenue in the calendar year, and number of transactions, to the Federal Central Tax Office (BZSt).

The reports are submitted annually in January for the previous year. In addition, you will receive a copy of the data we reported to the BZSt for the respective period.

Hello Samantha,

thanks for the reply. The tax ID has already been submitted. I was only interested in whether the tax office only learns about the respective limit that was exceeded, or everything. Now that's clear, I just didn't want the turnover to get excessively high, even though everything is private or used items and therefore hopefully no income tax is due.

Hello Community Team,

Yesterday Ebay posted the New eBay additional protection:

+12 months of insurance coverage for refurbished and new: other items was activated.

It says there that the buyer can return the item free of charge within 30 days.

However, returns are excluded for my listings, so how is that supposed to work now?

Do I have to join this program, or is it optional?

I received a 50 € voucher as part of an eBay promotion because I sold an item for at least 10 € during the promotion period. Now I want to return an item I bought. The seller is offering me a partial refund. With a purchase price of 129 euros, the partial refund would be 90 euros. In the case of a partial refund, is the full amount refunded, or is the voucher taken into account proportionally?

Hello @akak_88 and thanks for your question 😊 If you received a €50 voucher in an eBay promotion and used it for a purchase, the voucher amount will be taken into account proportionally in the event of a return or partial refund - provided it is still valid.

In your case:
You bought an item for €129 and theseller is offering you a partial refund of €90. The originally used €50 voucher is split proportionally when the transaction is reversed. This means that not the entire voucher amount is lost, but only the part that applies to the returned portion of the purchase.

An example for illustration:
If you paid €129 and €50 of that was a voucher, then you actually paid €79 yourself. If you are now refunded €90, that corresponds to about 70% of the purchase price - so about 70% of the voucher is also “taken back”. You then keep the remaining part of the voucher proportionally (if technically possible) or it is usually offset accordingly in the refund amount.
