💬 Welcome to the general eBay Q&A session on 02/11/22 at 2:00 p.m.
Hello everyone and ❤️welcome to the eBay Q&A session with the eBay Community Team.
Since we don't have a specific topic this week, please don't hesitate to post your general buying or selling questions here.
You're also welcome to send me topics you'd like to see covered in a full Q&A session.
To help us answer your questions more quickly, please choose one question per post. Of course, you're welcome to make as many posts in the eBay Q&A session as you like - in fact, we encourage that!
The Q&A session will remain open until 3:00 PM. After that, it will be closed to further questions. Of course, we'll still continue to make sure all questions are answered, including any that may still be unanswered - please give us a little time for that, as we often need to ask other colleagues for support in order to get the correct answer for you.
To post your question, click Reply in the lower right corner of this post, enter your question, and click "Reply" between 2:00 PM and 3:00 PM.
The eBay Q&A session format reflects the format of our community discussion forums, where all posts appear chronologically. The Community Team answers each incoming question in that order and then quotes the original question in the respective response. This quote and the response appear later chronologically and therefore further down.
If you unfortunately missed the eBay Q&A session, we'd be happy if you posted your question directly in the Community or simply waited until the next Q&A session.
Kind regards,
Your eBay Community Team

Okay, maybe you could read the posts in this thread after this Q&A session
Please complete your purchases
and explain to us whether, when, and who gets notifications, and why others don't see this notification.
We simply can't find an explanation, and when someone complains about reminders like that, the rest of us stand there with a magic bag strapped over our shoulder, because others have never received such reminders.
Best regards, booty

Hello @bootyooty ,
I'd be happy to take a look and maybe help out. Thanks for letting me know.

·3 years agoWhen is it possible to add more images on eBay? Some items need more there.
miriam@ebay
Hello @schubbi1234! At the moment, it is possible in the new listing tool to upload up to 12 photos, which is the same number of photos as before.
You can, if needed, add videos to your listings to provide more context and information about your item > Help page: Add videos to your listings. Is that an option for you? 🙂
Best regards
Miriam

·3 years agoUnfortunately, that's not an option. The number of images remains the same as before, and it should finally be changed. Alternatively, permanent allowance of external HTLM links with images.

·3 years agoCan’t you just put the images directly into the description? That used to work before!
schubbi1234
·3 years agoThat has always been possible, but unfortunately it is not tolerated --> external storage.
miriam@ebay
Thanks for the feedback, @schubbi1234. External links can lead to sales outside our platform, and we don’t want to support that.
So far, most listings do not use up the maximum number of images, not even yours. We believe that only very few buyers would look at more than 12 photos before purchasing. Of course, you can save additional photos locally on your device and present them if needed (e.g. a return request).
A quick update, @schubbi1234 - as of this week, everyone can add up to 24 photos to their listings free of charge instead of 12 photos 🙂.
Kind regards
Miriam

·3 years agoI’ve now noticed several times that in ebay’s oh-so-great new sales form, you can’t edit the shipping methods. Only deleting and entering them again or differently is possible. You can edit the price, but not the shipping provider. Or am I overlooking something?
And isn’t it at least possible to program the colors the way they were in the “old” form? Example: a bright red for important notes and as an eye-catcher is no longer possible. The other available colors aren’t exactly great either.
miriam@ebay
Hello @perfect-sally! At the moment it isn’t planned to edit the saved shipping services - however, you can add new services and delete the old ones, which ultimately amounts to the same thing, right? 🙂
I’ll take the feedback about the available colors with me, thanks!

·3 years agoIn the end, it comes down to the same thing, but that’s yet another thing that just wastes unnecessary time. Do you still not have enough reports to seriously think about this form? More and more things are coming to light that take way too much time and are cumbersome to deal with.
miriam@ebay
Maybe it takes a bit of time at the beginning until you get used to the new tool, @perfect-sally - but it’s definitely also less prone to errors to consciously set and save the shipping settings again 😉.
We’re still happy to receive specific points of criticism and suggestions for improvement. Either here via the Community or directly via the feedback option in the settings tool.

·3 years agoWhy is it that with the new sales form, it often happens that after an item has been uploaded, 19% VAT is suddenly added again, so a higher price is shown than was entered? Example: entered price in the form: €19.99 incl. VAT. Price shown after upload: €23.79? Even after refreshing 2-3 times, the higher price is still shown. Only after going to edit and checking whether everything has been entered correctly, which it has!!!, and then saving it again, does the displayed price match. And this happens relatively often and not just with the example mentioned.
patrick@ebay
Hello @perfect-sally ,
please feel free to give us an item number where you noticed it. At present, such behavior is not known, and we can flag it for you.

·3 years agoIt was definitely the case with the following item, but it was just sold: 125589186574
It also happened with other items, but I no longer remember exactly which ones. In any case, a few days ago with 2-3 items and also previously with individual items where I noticed it.
patrick@ebay
Hello @perfect-sally ,
thanks, we'll still draw attention to it.
