💬 Welcome to the general eBay Q&A on 03/04/2024 at 2:00 PM
Hello everyone and ❤️welcome to the eBay Q&A session with the eBay Community Team.
Since we don’t have a special topic this week, please feel free to ask your (please not topics already posted by other members) general buying or selling questions here.
To help us answer your questions more quickly, we ask you to choose one question per post. Of course, you can write as many posts in the eBay Q&A session as you like - we actually want you to!
The Q&A session stays open until 3:00 PM. After that it will be closed for further questions. Of course, we will also continue to work on answering any questions that may still be unanswered – please allow us a little time for that, as we often need to ask other colleagues for support to get the correct answer for you.
To publish your question, click Reply in the lower right corner of this post, enter your question, and click "Reply" between 2:00 PM and 3:00 PM.
The format of the eBay Q&A session reflects the format of our community discussion forums, where all posts appear chronologically. The Community Team answers each incoming question in this order and then quotes the original question in the respective reply. This quote and the reply appear later chronologically and thus further down.
IMPORTANT: even though we use the discussion forum format, the Q&A session is separate and exclusively for individual members' questions only and not for starting discussions - please use our discussion forum.
If you unfortunately missed the eBay Q&A session, we’d be happy if you posted your question directly in the community or just wait until the next Q&A session*.
Kind regards,
Your eBay Community Team

·2 years agoHow can I initiate a refund for an item I bought last May?
The item is defective and is being returned under the statutory warranty. The seller expressly agrees, but says that I have to initiate this return myself through "My eBay".
He has no other way to do it.
I can’t find a suitable button under "Purchases" since the purchase was more than 30 days ago... only "Contact seller," which I have already done. I ask for your help!! Thank you very much
patrick@ebay
Hello @wideglide1985,
The buyer protection has of course already expired and your seller can only initiate a refund via eBay, up to 90 days after the original transaction date.
Best regards
Patrick

·2 years agoHello,
Unfortunately, ebay still doesn’t offer a way to filter out pickup offers.
Many larger items can definitely be shipped, but how am I supposed to spend my money on ebay when, amid all the PICKUP-ONLY offers, I can’t find the right item with shipping?
The reverse works, of course, so that only pickup is shown - but given the sheer number of customers, it seems more important to me that one can filter that out too: very few customers live near Berlin, Kassel, California, America, Blödsheim or Deppendorf (Yes, those are all places in Germany!).
On the contrary, for at least 90% these places will be too far away for pickup.
Please make a filter that shows me ONLY SHIPPABLE OFFERS.
Pleease, pleeease, pleeease 😉
PS: Just an example, with moving boxes

Hello @de3trader and nice to hear from you! In fact, we've already passed this request along before and I'll make sure to include your feedback about it again.
I know that the teams at eBay responsible for pickup are also aware that the current process and handling are still not perfect. There will be further adjustments in the future to improve the user experience, and I hope that your suggestion regarding a filter to exclude pickup offers from search results can also be considered.
Thank you for the valuable suggestion! 🙂
Best regards
Miriam

·2 years agoHey @steffi@ebay 😘
lots of sellers just don’t understand why a buyer based abroad with a German delivery address can buy from them.
I really think eBay should finally improve this and add a function for sellers so they can block buyers who enter a forwarding address to have the item shipped from there to their respective country. Some still don’t realize that buyer protection only applies up to that point.
If someone wants to ship abroad, fine, but anyone who doesn’t want “buyers” from abroad as such should have a way to activate that too.
It keeps coming up here again and again as a frustrating topic. 😉

Hello @bootyooty, are you directly affected by this as a seller? I'm asking because there are already various threads Sale to abroad excluded - and yet the item was bought from abroad. & Seller protection on eBay for private sellers about this in the community, where eBay has also already answered questions. We really want to keep the Q&A session reserved for individual questions from individual members. If there is still a need for clarification on this topic, feel free to tag me in one of the already existing and mentioned threads. Thanks a lot 🌷
