Welcome to the general eBay Q&A session on 03/07/2024 at 2:00 PM
Hello everyone and ❤️welcome to the eBay Q&A session with the eBay Community Team.
Since we don't have a special topic this week, please don't hesitate to ask your (general buying or selling questions here, please no topics already posted by other members) here.
To help us answer your questions faster, we ask that you choose one question per post. Of course, you can write as many posts in the eBay Q&A session as you like - in fact, that's what we'd like you to do!
The Q&A session will remain open until 3:00 p.m. After that, it will be closed to further questions. Of course, we will continue to make sure that all questions that may still be unanswered are answered – please give us some time for that, as we often have to ask other colleagues for support to get the correct answer for you.
To post your question, click Reply in the lower right corner of this post, enter your question, and click "Reply" between 2:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m.
The format of the eBay Q&A session reflects the format of our community discussion forums, where all posts appear chronologically. The Community Team answers each incoming question in that order and then quotes the original question in the respective reply. This quote and the reply appear later chronologically and thus further down.
IMPORTANT: even though we use the discussion forum format, the Q&A session is separate and solely for individual members' questions only and not for starting discussions - please feel free to use our discussion forum.
If you unfortunately missed the eBay Q&A session, we'd be happy if you posted your question directly in the community or simply waited until the next Q&A session*.
Best regards,
Your eBay Community Team

·2 years agoHello, I פשוט just don't understand why Ebay doesn't want to change anything about these absolutely ridiculous service statistics. Here you're simply at the mercy of the buyers' whims and can't do anything about the entries disappearing from the "list" when a case of "item not received" was opened unjustly.
My service STATUS according to Ebay is top
Why do we still need the service STATISTICS then, and why does that still have to affect the account?????
I follow all these useless tips on the side. And yet there are more than enough buyers who open a case because the priority shipment was marked as delivered but isn't there yet, or because they simply didn't check the shipping status.
Now that Ebay already recognizes seller protection for regular letters bought through Ebay, without tracking the number of such cases would increase even further. So I still can't allow myself to finally save on shipping costs because Ebay won't revise this stupid statistic!
So what am I supposed to do? Why won't Ebay adjust anything here?
patrick@ebay
Hello @itec-systems ,
as soon as a case is opened, it gets counted. As has already been explained several times, it currently also cannot be removed, not even manually. We have already pointed this out extensively.
I would recommend keeping the buyer as up to date as possible. I know there are unfortunately some buyers who prematurely report not receiving an item, or generally open a case.
We can’t really tell you anything more at the moment.
Best regards
Patrick

·2 years agoMy question was not whether something like this can be removed. You already told me that.
My question is why Ebay has no plans to change anything here. And if it’s only the allowed percentage.
0.2% is just ridiculous.
"I would recommend keeping the buyer as up to date as possible. "
Because I have nothing better to do than write every buyer a message every day: "Item received today. Item in the parcel center today. Item out for delivery today. Item was delivered today. Don’t worry, everything will arrive, stay calm. Just be patient." The tip is unfortunately not practical.

·2 years agoWhy does ebay always have to tinker with tried-and-true, familiar page views?
Examples: recently the page was changed when you click block bidders. It looks different again now - why?
And then since today the changed view when you want to send price suggestions to buyers! And why can’t you see anymore how many potential buyers you’re sending the PV to? For me that was always informative! Why does ebay always have to change everything completely and mess it up? It definitely doesn’t make things clearer or easier for users.
steffi@ebay
Hello @perfect-sally, eBay actually wants to improve and simplify use, not make it more confusing. May I ask what exactly bothers you about the changed views, besides the point that you can no longer see how many potential buyers you’re sending the PS to? Then I can pass it on to my colleagues in more detail as feedback. Thanks

·2 years ago@steffi@ebay
Quite simply, a familiar process for the previous function is made more difficult because first you have to get used to it again so you don’t make any mistakes! It has already happened to some users that instead of a 10% discount they created a PV over €10. With constantly new and changed views, it’s definitely not any clearer.
Same with blocking bidders. What makes the tinkerers keep changing that?
Simply using certain pages as usual is made unnecessarily difficult this way.

Got it - then I'll pass that on - thanks @perfect-sally

·2 years agowe have now already had a phenomenon for the second time that we currently can’t explain.
For example, we had a plush toy on offer for €13.99.
We were sent a price suggestion of €8. We sent back €12.29 and then the item was sold for €10.
Order number 14-11752-20333
Even in the purchase overview, it is not apparent to us how this difference comes about.
Order number 19-11641-44791 would be another example.
Item cost €36.99, the last price suggestion from our side was €32.99. Then the item was sold for €30.
We actually don’t work with such round amounts and that is also not understandable to us.
Probably a settings issue.
Maybe someone can enlighten us as to why this is happening. Customer service itself couldn’t work it out either.

We look forward to a reply that may shed some light on the matter.

Hello @gordon_freeman_2 and thank you very much for your opening question! You really gave us a tricky puzzle right off the bat - we'll look into it and as soon as I can write more about it, I'll add my reply here - but it may take until after the Q&A session, as a bit more research is needed 🙂.
Update: So, we've solved it - it's because you entered something in "Automatically Accept". This means the counteroffer from your customer was automatically accepted because it is above the price. You could leave the "automatically accept" field blank if you want to decide the amount yourself.
Kind regards
Miriam
