With the eBay Community Team & the Community Support Team
Hello everyone and ❤️-ly welcome to today’s eBay Q&A!
Since we haven’t prepared a specific topic this week, we warmly invite you to ask your general questions here about buying and selling on eBay.
❗ Please make sure not to duplicate topics from other members that already exist. Check first whether your question has already been asked.
🛠️ How the Q&A works:
➤ One question per post
Please always ask only one question per post.
You can, however, post several posts with different questions – that is explicitly welcome!
➤ No new posts for existing questions
Please do not post follow-up questions or reminders to existing threads such as
“I’m still waiting for a reply”
“My question still hasn’t been answered”
as a new post.
We want to keep communication clear and ask you to always stay in the existing thread so that no duplicate conversations are created.
➤ Q&A period
⏰ The Q&A is always open from 14:00 to 15:00.
After that, it will be closed for new questions.
We will of course continue answering all open questions. Please understand that it may take a while – especially if we need to involve colleagues for clarification in order to give you the best possible answer.
✍️ How to ask your question:
- Click on “Reply” at the bottom right under this post
- Enter your question
- Between 14:00 and 15:00, click on “Reply” to send your question
ℹ️ Note on the format
We use the discussion forum format here, where all posts appear chronologically.
The Community Team handles your questions in order and quotes the respective original question in the reply.
📌 The eBay Q&A is a question-and-answer format for individual topics.
It is not meant for discussions.

·6 months agoHello,
Today I noticed for the first time that Ebay mentions replacement deliveries here.
How is this supposed to be understood? Does this mean that an option will finally be integrated for returns, where the buyer does not want a return for a refund but explicitly an exchange?
miriam@ebay
Hello @itec-systems! In principle, replacement deliveries have always been possible, because we do not intervene during the clarification phase and sellers can always offer replacement deliveries to resolve the situation. What matters to us is that everything is always well documented via the eBay messaging system so that everyone is in the loop. But you have not been the only one wishing for improvements in this area for a very long time 🤗.
I’ll look into for you since when this option has existed, whether it is already available for everyone, whether it will stay, and what else we can say about it - an update will follow 🙂.
Best regards
Miriam

·6 months agoThen one more question about this.
If you arrange a replacement delivery for a return, you have to rely on the buyer stopping the return when they receive the second shipment.
Another problem is that when the return shipment is with the seller, eBay is very quick to point out that you should now please refund the buyer. But since you only start with the replacement delivery then, it takes some time until the new shipment reaches the buyer. In addition, this would worsen the service statistics. Is there any help/solution from eBay?
miriam@ebay
Hello @itec-systems - the points mentioned are of course known, and therefore I would like to suggest waiting for the time being to see what will be communicated on this in the near future.
Update 9.02.2026: So far, apart from the change in the designation, no further changes are known.
Kind regards
Miriam

·6 months agoHello dear @community-team@ebay ,
my question today: since when have crossed-out prices in special promotions for the basic shop no longer been available?
Kind regards
Marc
patrick@ebay
Hello @mmstore74 ,
you are probably referring to your special promotion with the voucher code for the entire stock? Here the struck-through price should not be displayed, as it is highlighted differently in connection with the voucher.
Otherwise it should work without a Top, Premium, or Platinum shop. As long as no voucher code is used, or you could try it by including only a specific item in the special promotion, without a code.
Best regards

·6 months agoHello @patrick@ebay , I guess that means I’d then have to wait 30 days, since I started a special promotion now, right?
I was only able to find this, unfortunately
Requirements: Commercial sellers generally need an eBay Store subscription (Premium/Platinum) or must list items via the eBay API.
Or is that for the strike-through price?
Kind regards
Marc
patrick@ebay
Hello @mmstore74 ,
one is More visibility, more sales: strike-through prices with MSRP via the eBay API , which is only for the shops mentioned. As for special promotions, the strike-through price should also work with Basic.
Navigate in Seller Cockpit Pro to the Marketing section, open the drop-down menu under Sales Promotions, and select Special Promotions.
Choose either a percentage discount or a fixed discount amount for each item.
Set the time period and give the special promotion a name.
Select the items you want to include and start the promotion.
Best regards
