Welcome to the general eBay Q&A session on 04/09/2024 at 2:00 PM
Hello everyone and ❤️welcome to the eBay Q&A session with the eBay Community Team.
Since we don’t have a specific topic this week, please feel free to ask your (general buying or selling questions, please not topics already covered by other members) here.
To help us answer your questions faster, we ask you to choose one question per post. Of course, you can write as many posts in the eBay Q&A session as you like - we even encourage it!
The Q&A session will remain open until 3:00 p.m. After that, it will be closed for further questions. Of course, we will continue to make sure that all questions that may still be unanswered are answered - please allow us some time for this, as we often have to ask other colleagues for support to get the correct answer for you.
To post your question, click Reply in the lower right corner of this post, enter your question, and click "Reply" between 2:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m.
The format of the eBay Q&A session reflects the format of our community discussion forums, in which all posts appear chronologically. The Community Team answers each incoming question in this order and then quotes the original question in the respective reply. This quote and the reply appear later chronologically and thus further down.
IMPORTANT: even though we use the discussion forum format, the Q&A session is separate and exclusively for individual members' questions only and not for starting discussions - please use our discussion forum.
If you unfortunately missed the eBay Q&A session, we’d be happy if you posted your question directly in the Community or simply waited until the next Q&A session*.
Kind regards,
Your eBay Community Team

·1 year agoI’d like to print or save the conversation with the assistant. How do I do that?
steffi@ebay
Hello @uk-immergut, unfortunately this option doesn’t exist yet, but of course I’ll pass it along as a suggestion. Until then, you can save the answers from our automatic assistant as a screenshot or copy them and save them in a Word document. If your issue still hasn’t been resolved, feel free to use the eBay Community for support.

Since Ebay is so free and also makes money from shipping costs (charges fees), it would be nice if you could also print shipping labels for abroad with customs declaration through the Ebay system.
You can save the address, but then no service is available and it’s really annoying to have to export everything all the time.
Best regards
miriam@ebay
Hello @mmstore74 and thank you for your suggestion, which is already known to us and also to the shipping team. Work is continuously being done to optimize the shipping platform, and of course we want you to be able to buy all your shipping labels directly and conveniently through eBay.
We will let you know if there is anything new in this regard in the future 🙂.
Kind regards
Miriam

·1 year agoHello @miriam@ebay ,then I’d still have something for the shipping team, then please simply suspend the fees for the shipping costs for now, that would be a nice gesture.
miriam@ebay
Hello @mmstore74! If the fees on shipping costs bother you, you can also offer free shipping on even more listings and check whether you can factor your costs into the price elsewhere. Offering free shipping can demonstrably increase overall sales.
The sales commission for shipping generally prevents dishonest sales practices. There have been cases where sellers stated excessive shipping costs. When fees are charged on shipping costs, excessive prices are curbed. We do not want to punish honest sellers, but if eBay becomes safer, that also means more business for everyone.
Our general principle is that fees are calculated based on the total price paid by buyers. This is intended to ensure that customers pay a fair price.
Best regards

·1 year agoHello @miriam@ebay
Does the sales commission for shipping generally prevent dishonest sales practices?
So, according to what you're saying, every commercial seller should offer free shipping and factor the shipping costs into the price, because that way dishonest sales practices are prevented.
Then if a customer buys 10 items from me, they basically pay shipping 10 times, and that's supposed to be an honest sales practice, really now?
What's also funny is the maximum limits of 10,50 €uro in certain categories; sometimes I can't even come close to that, does Ebay even know the prices?
A DHL parcel with 31,5 Kg costs 23,99 €uro and your limit is 10,50 €uro
Who is making what kind of sales practice out of that now?
Just set limits everywhere and then everything's fine, and how am I supposed to charge excessive shipping costs if I can't state more than 10,50 €uro, that doesn't make any sense again
miriam@ebay
Hello @mmstore74 - you know that our question hour is not the right place to discuss the fee structure with us; this is a global business decision.
If you still see a need for discussion, please use the areas you know.
Kind regards
