💬 Welcome to the general eBay Q&A session on 05/04/23 at 2:00 p.m.
Hello everyone and ❤️welcome to the eBay Q&A session with the eBay Community Team.
As we don't have a specific topic this week, please don't hesitate to ask your general buying or selling questions here.
You’re also welcome to send me topics you’d like to see covered in a full Q&A session.
To help us answer your questions more quickly, please choose one question per post. Of course, you’re welcome to post as many entries in the eBay Q&A session as you like - in fact, we encourage it!
The Q&A session will remain open until 15:00. After that, it will be closed to further questions. Of course, we will continue to take care of answering any questions that may still be unanswered - please give us a little time for this, as we often have to ask other colleagues for support to get the correct answer for you.
To post your question, click Reply in the bottom right corner of this post, enter your question, and click "Reply" between 14:00 and 15:00.
The format of the eBay Q&A session reflects the format of our community discussion forums, where all posts appear chronologically. The Community Team answers each incoming question in this order and then quotes the original question in the respective reply. This quote and the reply appear later chronologically and thus further down.
If you missed the eBay Q&A session, we’d be happy if you posted your question directly in the Community or just waited for the next Q&A session*.
Kind regards,
Your eBay Community Team

Of course, you can also ask me questions about your Community account or the Community itself via a @steffi@ebay

·3 years agoI’m having problems setting up a new product and then with the cost table for the international shipping service.
When I check the shipping service for international sales and select my cost table, it doesn’t get saved when I start the sale.
Customers therefore only see the costs for shipping within Germany. My old products that I’ve already set up, the cost table works there.
Where is this going wrong, or how can I fix it? I’m using the cost table precisely because I want to specify the shipping costs per country.
dascha4670
·3 years agoI list the item and check these options, but as soon as I save the item, these settings disappear and no international shipping has been entered.
steffi@ebay
Hello @dascha4670, you’re doing everything right! The costs are specified and can also be found. Each respective user sees them for their country. IN DE, naturally the ones for DE. In Monaco, for Monaco.
Since I’m in Ireland, they’re shown to me for Ireland:

·3 years agoHello,
today I received this message from eBay:
"We would like to remind you that you must add the WEEE number (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) to your account in order to comply with extended producer responsibility (EPR) in Germany. This legislation was introduced in Europe to improve waste management and promote innovation in recycling.
The WEEE regulations apply to manufacturers of electronic and electrical equipment that is sold to customers on the German market. A complete list of the products and categories covered by these regulations can be found in our help section.
What you need to do
-
You already have a WEEE number: add it to your account
-
You do not yet have a WEEE number: register with the Stiftung Elektro-Altgeräte Register (EAR) and add the number you receive to your account.
From July 2023, we are legally required to restrict the sales activities of sellers who do not meet the requirements on eBay.de - please therefore take the above measures as soon as possible.
If you have any questions, please contact us. We will be happy to help you."
Am I required to register for WEEE when trading car parts on eBay?
There are many electronic parts in the car parts trade, such as engine control units, etc. Hence my question.
Thank you for your reply.
**I trade in car parts, not electronics like TVs, tablets, mobile phones.

Hello @rstyleautoshop, as soon as I receive feedback on your question, I’ll write it here for you!

Update 11.04.23
Hello @rstyleautoshop, whether registration with the Stiftung Elektro-Altgeräte Register (EAR) is required in your specific case depends on the individual items you sell and whether you manufacture them, sell them for the first time to consumers in Germany, or import them into Germany. Further information on electrical equipment that falls within the scope of the Electrical Equipment Act can be found here.
The Stiftung EAR also provides how-to videos, which you can find here.
I hope this helps.

·3 years agoGood day,
I wanted to change or delete my WEEE no. in the settings "Company information"
due to new circumstances.
But I found that it cannot be saved if I leave the field blank (which is intended, as I want to delete this no. and do not need to enter a new one.
steffi@ebay
Hello @hotplay_24_de, I also need to check with the colleagues responsible here. As soon as I receive an answer, I'll write it here for you!
steffi@ebay
also for you @hotplay_24_de I received feedback: At the moment you can only change the WEEE yourself. The removal has to be done by eBay (a solution is also already being worked on here so that sellers can do this themselves in the future). Would you like the WEEE to be removed from this eBay account here? Or is it about another eBay account / other eBay accounts?
steffi@ebay
Welcome to the eBay Q&A session! Since I'm the only one here today, I ask for a bit of patience with replies to your questions. Thank you 🙂

·3 years agoWhy do you suddenly have to solve captchas for the past few days when you click the shop icon in your account and want to view your own items while logged in?
Was someone bored again and changed something? No changes to the browser or any other settings.
steffi@ebay
Hello @perfect-sally, I'll ask about this for you directly!
steffi@ebay
I received feedback @perfect-sally: The behavior is unknown to the tech team. But it may be because you are being classified as "unsafe". Could you please try analternative browser once (without add-ons or any other tool that intervenes). It should then work.
After that, unfortunately, you will have to look for the cause, which can only be found on your computer.

·3 years agoA buyer asked in advance whether the item could also be picked up. We agreed and promised that after the purchase we would provide our address and phone number to arrange an appointment. He bought it, paid, and we told him everything. Since then, we haven’t heard back from him. A follow-up message went unanswered. Now the deadline set by eBay for delivery expires tomorrow. Should we just ship it? Or how should one handle a case like this?
steffi@ebay
Hello @genio$a, I can see that the buyer has also already paid for shipping. So you can simply ship the item, even without a response from the buyer.
