💬 Welcome to the general eBay Q&A session on 06/03/2024 at 2:00 p.m.
Hello everyone and ❤️welcome to the eBay Q&A session with the eBay Community Team.
As we don’t have a specific topic this week, please feel free to ask your (please not topics already existing from other members) general buying or selling questions here.
To be able to answer your questions more quickly, we ask you to choose one question per post. Of course you can write as many posts in the eBay Q&A session as you like - we actually want you to!
The Q&A session will remain open until 3:00 p.m. After that, it will be closed for further questions. Of course, we will continue to make sure that all questions that may still be unanswered are answered – please give us some time for this, as we often have to ask other colleagues for support in order to get the correct answer for you.
To publish your question, click Reply in the lower right corner of this post, enter your question and click "Reply" between 2:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m.
The format of the eBay Q&A session mirrors the format of our community discussion forums, where all posts appear chronologically. The Community Team answers each incoming question in that order and then quotes the original question in the respective reply. This quote and the reply appear later chronologically and thus further down.
IMPORTANT: even though we use the discussion forum format, the Q&A session is separate and solely for individual members' questions only and not for starting discussions - please use our discussion forum.
If you unfortunately missed the eBay Q&A session, we’d be happy if you posted your question directly in the Community or simply waited until the next Q&A session*.
Kind regards,
Your eBay Community Team

·2 years agoQuestion about the PStTG: if I have two accounts with 25 transactions each and less than €2000 in revenue - will this be reported to the BZSt?
miriam@ebay
Hello @peter9999x!
Correction 11.03.2024: If you sell through multiple eBay accounts, the transactions or sales are added together and, based on the total number of your transactions or sales determined in this way, it is decided whether eBay must report your data to the Federal Central Tax Office under the PStTG. Related eBay accounts are determined based on the information available to eBay.
eBay must report the data of sellers who have completed at least 30 sales within a year or have sales of €2,000 or more from sales on the platform (after deducting fees, commissions, and taxes).
Kind regards
Miriam

·2 years agoHello Patrick,
regarding our chat last week.
What is the point of having me retrieve a device damaged in transit at additional cost? Especially when the buyer is abroad. In my case, that would have been another approx. € 40.
Yes, eBay asked me to buy the shipping ticket. But it wasn't clear to me that this was a prerequisite for further processing. eBay didn't communicate that clearly either, in my view.
Would the return shipment have changed anything at all about eBay's decision on how to proceed?
Regards
Rainer

Hello @sommerglueck99 ,
On 24/01, you were informed how you can respond: return or partial refund.
This was missed and therefore the case was also decided in favor of the buyer.
Best regards

·2 years agoHello team,
I still have one question about the upcoming fee increase, or adjustment as eBay calls it.
It has already been clarified that the model making category does not fall under toys and is not affected by the increase – if that's true, that is.
Now to the question: there is a distinction between the eBay category and the shop category, I hope.
So if I list an item under model making – model trains... etc., but choose my shop category as toys and 2nd as technology, will the fees then be as they are today, for example, or will the “adjustment” kick in?
miriam@ebay
Hello @perfect-sally and thanks for your question! So that we can provide correct information here and there is no confusion about this, we will ask again to be on the safe side and add the reply here.
Update 2:05 p.m.: The category ID you see above applies, e.g. for toys 220. You can choose your shop categories yourself; they have nothing to do with eBay categories.
Best wishes
Miriam

·2 years agoHi,
the response from @miriam@ebay to @perfect-sally is irritating me again, because the display of the update was the basis for the discussion with @patrick@ebay.
So is the eBay category "Model building" now subordinate to the category "Toys" and thus affected by the fee adjustment? Yes or no?
Best regards from the Baltic Sea

Hello @petersmodellbahnstuebchen ,
don't let it get to you, my last reply to you is correct. No fee adjustment is planned for your category.
Best regards
Patrick
