·2 years agoWhy have there been problems with shipping labels much more often lately? The labels that apparently come from the seller can’t be opened. The labels that should come via eBay Plus also can’t.
We have to tag an eBay employee every time for it to work. That can’t really be the intended way either.

·2 years agoAnd one more note: ebay apparently “sponsors” tons of labels that are actually the sellers’ responsibility. Another kind of goodwill gesture? And strangely enough, almost exclusively private buyers benefit from it. And commercial sellers are now being charged outrageous fees! Fairness sounds different to me!

I’d like to know today why some listings on Ebay.com aren’t shown at all, even when you copy the item description 1:1?
Last week my entire shop in the USA wasn’t visible either.
...and I’m wondering why I’m no longer selling anything there, since it actually accounted for most of my revenue.

·2 years agoOnly Canada was excluded from the USA, and otherwise I always sold a lot there.
The shop has been visible again for quite a while, and some items are shown on Ebay.com and some not at all

,I have a question today about the tiresome issue of commercial sellers who trade privately.
" real commercial traders " are registered with the tax office ( or at least they should be )
If a commercial seller here wants to save on all the fees, etc., can’t they just open a private account and sell through that? They would then be reported to the tax office by eBay after 30 sales or €2000 in revenue, but that shouldn’t matter to the seller, since they can simply declare it in their next tax return and the matter is settled.
The tax office really couldn’t care less whether this person is trading privately or commercially, and what I want to get at now is this:
If you report such " private sellers " who are obviously trading commercially ( unfortunately I can’t link anything here ), and then also advertise their own external online shop in the images, the AI then writes that this seller is not violating our principles.
So why is there a report button for " fee avoidance, fee shifting, links and logos, etc. " if nobody is violating anything anyway.
I don’t understand why eBay allows things like this and forgoes all these fees, while only taking money from the normal honest commercial sellers; I just don’t understand that at all.

Hello @hondacrx0_3, I can't judge whether the tax office doesn't care. eBay definitely does care.
That's why we also regularly review our sellers' trading activities. Whether private or commercial trading activities are involved can always only be decided on the basis of the specific individual case. In many cases, the information available via the eBay marketplace is not sufficient to make a final assessment. Here eBay naturally also works with the authorities (e.g. the tax office) and supports them in related investigations.
To counteract sham private trading, we have taken various measures. Sales limits apply to all sellers on the website. We want sellers to grow sustainably so that they can be successful in the long term.
Likewise, popular and/or high-priced items are subject to sales limits. In some cases, only sellers who have been reviewed beforehand or only a certain number of these items may be sold.
If we have sufficient suspicion of irregularities, we take action. These can vary and are not visible to outsiders.
The following options are available to us – depending on the severity of the violation and its frequency:
Even if these measures are not always publicly visible, they are still very effective, as they have an immediate impact on the member concerned.

·2 years agoOk @steffi@ebay but how does that work then, when you report someone who is so blatantly violating YOUR principles, "their external shop address" is integrated into the images and this is larger than the item and your AI writes, "does not violate our principles"

Hello @apollo567, yes, such a restriction is compliant with the eBay terms and conditions if the item is also listed in the correct category Business & Industry , otherwise you have to expect that non-business members can also buy the item.

we do ship abroad and have excluded some countries there, but with the option that potential buyers from excluded countries can make inquiries.
-How does that work then?
-Is it like some kind of price suggestion and we just need to enter the shipping there and accept it?

first of all, I would like to give you the following note: Obligations under the Price Indication Ordinance - specification of international shipping costs
The function "Additional shipping locations: costs on request",
applies only to auctions, not to Buy It Now offers. The reason is that for fixed-price offers, payment has to be made immediately, and that is not possible for your countries that you have excluded anyway.
If buyers contact you who are from a country that you have excluded, you would first have to add them to the buyer exemption list and then send them a total amount with the shipping costs included. Here again, please note the information above.

Today we unfortunately noticed that when we search on ebay.com, our items are displayed, but completely wrong Kg prices are shown. It doesn’t matter whether the countries are on the exclusion list or not.
This is the case for all items.

eBay article no.:315157327912
These are a few examples.
The base price is in SEK = Swedish krona because we are based in Sweden.
63,96 SEK = 240 g
Results in a Kg price of 266,50 SEK (23,23 Euro).
The problem is that Ebay does not show this in Swedish krona, but in US dollars.
The unit price is correct, but the Kg price is shown in the wrong currency and that massively puts off potential buyers. Because instead of 23,23 Euro it then shows 266,50 dollars per kilo.
Only when potential customers click on the item is it displayed correctly there. Whether it gets that far is doubtful with the Kg price being shown.
We don’t know how well known the problem is, but Ebay should fix it, and as I said, this only happens when you are on ebay.com. In DE, for example, it is displayed correctly. So it has to do with the currencies.
We hope the images were attached, because Ebay has problems with the screenshot format and changing the format didn’t help either.
