Welcome to the general eBay Q&A session on 10/07/2024 at 2:00 PM
Hello everyone and ❤️welcome to the eBay Q&A session with the eBay Community Team.
Since we don't have a special topic this week, please don't hesitate to ask your (please not topics already posted by other members) general buying or selling questions here.
To help us answer your questions more quickly, we ask you to choose one question per post. Of course you can write as many posts in the eBay Q&A session as you like - in fact, that's what we want!
The Q&A session remains open until 3:00 PM. After that, it will be closed for further questions. Of course, we will also continue to take care of answering any questions that may still be unanswered - please give us some time for that, as we often have to ask other colleagues for support in order to get the correct answer for you.
To publish your question, click Reply in the lower right corner of this post, enter your question, and click "Reply" between 2:00 PM and 3:00 PM.
The format of the eBay Q&A session reflects the format of our community discussion forums, where all posts appear chronologically. The Community Team answers each incoming question in that order and then quotes the original question in the respective response. This quote and the response appear later chronologically and therefore further down.
IMPORTANT: even though we use the discussion forum format, the Q&A session is individual and exclusively for individual members' questions and not for starting discussions - as always, please use our discussion forum.
If you unfortunately missed the eBay Q&A session, we’d be happy if you asked your question directly in the Community, or simply waited until the next Q&A session*.
Kind regards,
Your eBay Community Team

the @community-team@ebay would like to thank you for the Q&A session on Wednesday. If any questions should still come up that you'd like clarified before the next eBay Q&A session, or if you didn't have enough time for another post / response, please start a new topic and tag the eBay Community Team as follows:

·2 years agoHello everyone,
I just wanted to say that it’s a real shame not to get any more replies, but I’ll probably be done with the community here anyway. It only causes headaches and it’s better to just bottle everything up and deal with it yourself; that’s probably in eBay’s best interests too
steffi@ebay
Hello @mmstore74, unfortunately I can't recognize any specific question in your post, but I'm sure that if anything is still unanswered in one of the topics you've already opened, it will be answered promptly once the necessary information for getting back to you is available.

·2 years agoI have a problem with my return. The seller is being difficult and not responding. I would like to talk to eBay customer service on the phone, but I can’t do that at the moment because I’m abroad and don’t have roaming. Is there any other way (maybe in writing or via video chat) to present my issue to eBay?
Thank you for the info.
patrick@ebay
Hello @roberra_70 ,
you should receive a notification about your return within the next few minutes.
For the future, just call customer service (if you're not abroad) so they can note your return number; we've just done that for you and then the case can also be closed.
Best regards
Patrick

·2 years agoQuick question:
The internal message history now offers a new view.
Why are the messages you sent yourself no longer shown?
There is only the "inbox" now. The view in this form is not usable.
steffi@ebay
Hi @ttd4it, your inbox is still split up, though, as shown in my picture, right?
You can now find your sent messages directly in the respective message thread as a chat.

·2 years agoHello, are there technical problems with eBay?
I can’t send messages to customers.
It keeps asking for passwords all the time.
Thanks for the quick reply.
miriam@ebay
Hello @rstyleautoshop and thanks for letting us know. We can see that you've already sent eBay messages today - so did you have to enter your eBay password every time before sending?
It could be related to your browser settings; could it be that you clear your browser data very regularly? That can cause you to be prompted multiple times during the session to log in again (to verify yourself). Have you already tested this behavior on other devices/browsers?
Best regards

·2 years agoI didn't delete the cookies.
The problem occurs at 4 computer stations at our workplace. Of course, it's Wi-Fi
miriam@ebay
Thanks for the feedback, @rstyleautoshop - since the Q&A session is already over, I'd ask you to open a new topic here, then we'll take another calm look at it for you.
Thanks and best regards

·2 years agoHello, over the last few days I’ve been receiving very inflated offers for my items, up to double the starting price. If I go to the bidder’s profile, I read there: "Hello seller, I have a few questions. Please send me a text message at xxxxxx@gmail.com to arrange payment. Thanks."
I changed the email address for privacy reasons
The item is supposed to be shipped to Germany, the bidder’s location is Canada.
I sent a message to the bidder via contact buyer, but have received no reply.
My question is whether this is a new scam and how should I handle it, I have a bad feeling about it?
Best regards
patrick@ebay
Hello @norbertlam-0 ,
the fact alone that they are already trying to get you to pay outside of eBay should be a warning sign.
Furthermore, I am not aware that a text message can be sent via email. 😄
You are welcome to report the buyer. In any case, ignore it and do not engage.
Best regards

How do I report a bidder on eBay, I can't find it in the help?
patrick@ebay
Hello @norbertlam-0 ,
we've already taken care of it for you.

·2 years agoHello,
since the ad for the eBay Academy appeared at the bottom of the Seller Cockpit Pro page, the page jumps down to this box every time it loads. That is terribly annoying, since you always have to scroll back up to be able to see the important things. This happens both when reloading and when you click on "Sell" again from another page.
miriam@ebay
Hello @feelgooddealssh and thank you for letting us know! We know that on the Verkäufer-Cockpit Pro overview the page always jumps to the eBay Academy box, and we already have an internal ticket open to improve the display. I have passed on your eBay name, and we are working to restore the original state as soon as possible.
Best regards
Miriam
