Hello everyone and ❤️-ly welcome to today’s eBay question hour!
Since we haven’t prepared a special topic this week, we warmly invite you to ask your general questions here about buying and selling on eBay.
❗ Please make sure not to duplicate topics that already exist from other members. Check first whether your question has already been asked.
🛠️ How the question hour works:
➤ One question per post
Please only ask one question per post at a time.
But you can post several posts with different questions — that is expressly welcome!
➤ No new posts for existing questions
Please do not post follow-up questions or reminders to existing threads such as
“I’m still waiting for a response”
“My question hasn’t been answered yet”
as a new post.
We want to keep the communication clear and ask you to always stay in the existing thread so that no duplicate conversations are created.
➤ Question hour period
⏰ The question hour is always open from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
After that, it will be closed for new questions.
Of course, we will continue to answer all open questions. Please understand that it may take some time – especially when we involve colleagues for clarification in order to give you the best possible answer.

- Enter your question

·6 months agoHello everyone,
Today I have a question regarding email communication between buyer and seller.
Specifically, it concerns the fact that a buyer listed on my block list (listed about 1 year ago) sent an email about one of my listed items, wanting to negotiate in this mail about the item price, the purchase process, the shipping costs, and delivery to an address other than the one stored with Ebay.
My question is: how can the blocked buyer (the Ebay name was still the same) even see my items? I always thought that buyers placed on the block list could no longer see my items.
selina_b@ebay
Hello @murmu67,
thank you very much for your question.
A person who is on your blocked list can actually still see your items on eBay. The blocked list primarily means that these buyers can no longer buy or bid on your items. However, the visibility of your listings is not restricted by this.
The fact that you received a message may be because messages about an item are generally possible – regardless of whether the person is on your blocked list.
You cannot allow blocked buyers to contact you:
Kind regards

My 2nd question today,
for a few days now I’ve been getting emails/messages from Ebay completely irregularly saying that items have been delivered. Since when has that been the case, and why so irregularly and not for every delivered item?
Kind regards
Marc

Hello @mmstore74 ,
I’ve had it for a bit longer myself, about 2 months - also depending on the shipping method / tracking.
With DHL parcel shipping, it works most reliably.
Best regards

·6 months agoDoesn’t one pay way too much in fees if Ebay charges the full amount even though the buyer actually used a voucher?
selina_b@ebay
@itec-systems
If a voucher is financed by eBay (e.g. a promotional voucher), then as the seller you still get paid the full sale price – so the voucher isn’t deducted from your payout. In that case, you don’t incur any “hidden” extra costs, because you receive the full amount.
It’s different with price reductions or discounts that you offer yourself (e.g. send offers or your own discount promotions). These naturally reduce the sale price – and the fees are then calculated based on the actual sale price achieved.
So you don’t pay “too much” just because a buyer used an eBay voucher.

·6 months agoThanks for the info, but I meant vouchers that you have to cover yourself. These typical 10% max. €50 are 100% to be covered by the seller. But you never know with which offers it was used in concrete terms, and since these vouchers act like a discount, the fee should of course not be charged on that either. It gets tricky when the full amount is always shown in the transaction details of the purchase, even if the buyer redeemed the voucher.
selina_b@ebay
@itec-systems You can view it in the growth portal in the billing.
Otherwise, for data protection reasons, you won’t be told, as we protect seller and buyer data and the payment processing runs through us.
Best regards

·6 months agoHello,
how can I find out for which sale exactly which amount was deducted as a voucher?
Why can't that be shown directly with the sale?
selina_b@ebay
Hello @itec-systems,
thanks a lot for your question.
Vouchers are technically recorded as a payment component on the buyer side and not as a classic “deduction” in the sale. That's why they appear in the payment detail views and not directly in the compact sales overview.

·6 months agoHello,
okay bad, but is there then an overview of which purchases a voucher was used for?
mmstore74
·6 months agoHello dear @community-team@ebay
I have 2-3 concerns today, but one by one.
My first question today,
why do I not get automatic feedback for some items that were shipped as DHL parcel with tracking number and have also been delivered for many days already?
Kind regards
Marc
patrick@ebay
Hello @mmstore74 ,
were the correct settings made on the feedback page? I.e. the boxes checked for showing automatic feedback and sorted by newest?
The following criteria must be met:
It is automatically rated after 7 days, following delivery according to tracking.
Otherwise, feel free to share examples using the order number.
Best regards

·6 months agoHello @patrick@ebay my bestie 😁
Here are 2 order numbers.
11-14150-06965 delivered on 02/02/2026
24-14137-44786 delivered on 29/01/2026
Even if I type it into the search bar, nothing
Best regards
Marc
patrick@ebay
Hello @mmstore74 ,
I wasn't able to determine exactly what the problem is. I would wait a few more days and see whether anything changes in that regard.
Best regards

·6 months agoHello,
we recently had another case like this, where the seller had only offered shipping via Hermes but the buyer had given a Packstation as the delivery address.
Why can the buyer still buy and pay anyway? We’ve had this before already, and I thought eBay had fixed it on their end.
steffi@ebay
Hello @perfect-sally, thank you very much for your contribution and for sharing the case. We would like the Q&A session – as already described in the opening post with
❗ “Please make sure not to duplicate topics that already exist from other members.”
to remain reserved exclusively for members with questions that directly concern them personally.
All other topics that involve general cases or already known constellations (such as shipping method vs. Packstation) are and will continue to be covered in the discussion forum. There they can be discussed in detail and collected, so that information remains easy for all members to find 📌
This way we make sure the Q&A session stays clear and individual concerns can be clarified specifically, and no duplicate conversations are created🙌.

·6 months agoGood day,
for a few weeks now, eBay has been listing offers from every seller twice in a row for me. For example, if a seller has 4 offers, then I see the 4 and then the same 4 again right after that. This happens with the setting “lowest price” or also with “ending soonest.” Only with the setting “best results” are the offers displayed normally. Is there an explanation for this?
steffi@ebay
Hello @klamoe, thank you very much for your question! I’m not currently aware of the behavior you described. So that I can take a closer look, it would be great if you could send me one or two screenshots 📸
It would also be helpful to know:
which device (app or browser?)
which operating system or browser
whether the problem occurs all the time or only occasionally
That way I can better understand what’s happening with you 🔍
klamoe
·6 months agoHello steffi@ebay,
regarding the issue of duplicate display:
on browser
Windows 11 and Chrome
since about 2-3 weeks continuously
attached are 2 screenshots
Regards from klamoe

steffi@ebay
Thank you very much for the screenshots and the additional details @klamoe – that helps a lot! 🙌
What I forgot to ask: Could you also send me the relevant links to the affected listings or to the search results page? 🔗
Then I can pass everything on together straight to my colleagues in tech so they can take a closer look in detail.
oskar_der_wikinger
·6 months agoHello @steffi@ebay
sorry for jumping in here
the problem is also with the Edge browser on Win 11
steffi@ebay
All good @oskar_der_wikinger - the more examples, the better 💪! Could you maybe also send me a link for that please?
klamoe
·6 months agoHello steffi@ebay,
I randomly picked out listings (with as few listings as possible). Still, the link, for example: https://www.ebay.de/sch/i.html?item=277700126601&rt=nc&_trksid=p4429486.m3561.l170197&_ssn=jonu_bett
or
https://www.ebay.de/sch/i.html?item=297578958955&rt=nc&_trksid=p4429486.m3561.l170197&_ssn=mic_877830
The duplicate appears for every seller, no matter how many listings they have posted.
And once again the note: duplicated, for example with the setting “lowest price” or also “ending soonest.” Only with the setting “best results” are the listings shown normally.
Regards from klamoe

Update 13.02.2026
Hello @klamoe and happy Friday! Our technical team is now checking the issue. If it turns out to be a problem on eBay's side, we will of course correct it accordingly. @oskar_der_wikinger also pointed me to this solution; maybe that will help you too 🤞🍀
Thanks a lot for your support and patience 🙌
