🗨 Welcome to the general eBay Q&A on 11/05/22
Hello everyone!
Thank you very much for taking part in the eBay Q&A session with the eBay Community Team.
Since we don't have a special topic this week, please don't hesitate to post your general buying or selling questions here. To be able to answer your questions more quickly, we ask that you post one question per post. Of course, you can post as many entries in the eBay Q&A session as you like - in fact, we want you to!
The Q&A session will remain open until 3:00 PM. After that, it will be closed for further questions. Of course, we will continue to make sure that all questions that may still be unanswered are answered – please give us some time for that 🙏.
To ask your question, click Reply in the bottom right corner of this post, enter your question, and click "Reply" between 2:00 PM and 3:00 PM. The format of the eBay Q&A session reflects the format of our community discussion forums, where all posts appear chronologically. The Community Team answers each incoming question in that order and then quotes the original question in the respective reply. This quote and the reply appear later chronologically and thus further down.
Questions that we cannot answer directly during the session will be processed by us with a link to the answer.
If you unfortunately missed the eBay Q&A session, we would be happy if you posted your question directly in the Community or simply waited until the next Q&A session.
Kind regards
Your eBay Community Team

·4 years agoHello,
Lately I’ve noticed that with some commercial sellers the terms and conditions and the cancellation policy are missing from the listings. In addition, buyers are not granted a right of withdrawal and it says: The seller does not accept returns for this item.
How can that be? That surely violates your eBay rules, doesn’t it?
best regards
Bernd

Hello @aelita86! In general, all sellers are themselves responsible for the legality of the items listed on eBay and compliance with legal requirements . You can also find information on the right of withdrawal for distance selling in our legal portal.
We’d be happy to take a closer look at what you’ve noticed so we can better determine whether this information was entered correctly in the first place. Are there any specific item numbers you can give us for our research? 🙂
Best regards

·4 years agoHello Miriam ,
Here is an example: Item no.: 403446947228 . For this seller, it affects all items .

Thanks a lot, this is not a display error, but the legally required information has not been stored appropriately on eBay. We are checking! 👍

·4 years agoHello
A note:
The problem I reported here on 13/4, that you rate a seller but the status display doesn’t get updated, seems to be related to the fact that I like to open ebay in multiple tabs in the browser. If I do it from a single tab, this problem has not occurred so far.
You wrote to me that you had created a ticket for this. Perhaps you could attach this information to the ticket.
("It seems that this problem only happens when I open the feedback window in a separate tab in the browser. I never had this issue when I used only one tab for ebay. For me browsing with several tabs is standard.")
Best regards...

Hello @hansdamv! At the time you reported this, there were several members (sellers as well as buyers) who were prompted to leave feedback, even though they had already done so. The bug was fixed on April 21, 2022 and should therefore no longer occur for you either, even if you use multiple tabs and refresh the browser windows accordingly after leaving feedback 🙂.
Kind regards

·4 years agoHello
Why do you make it so hard for buyers to access older orders? I can only view orders up to 2020. It used to be different.
I’ve now solved it by requesting my personal data. I’ll keep doing that every so often in the future at longer intervals. But even that is unfortunately not entirely easy. Because even those are only up to 2020 at first. You have to spot the small calendar icon and then click your way through month by month (!) to the beginning (for me from 2020 to 2006). That’s ANNOYING!
The data is there, why is it hidden so much?
I use this often to quickly find out whether I had already bought an item (e.g. for a collection).
Thanks...
Thomas

Hello @hansdamv ,
basically, the last 3 years are shown. So 2022, 2021 & 2020, which is correct. The recommendation here would be, if it’s for your collection, to maybe create a table privately, e.g. with Excel. You’ve already found the other way to get to the years before that. 😉
Best regards

·4 years agoI am very, very sure that you used to be able to select all years since first registration. It’s a shame that this was reduced.
But OK, that’s just how it is now...
Thanks for the quick reply...

·4 years agoHello to the team,
there were already posts about this topic in the forum, but I still have a question about it.
Article 372842430513
For those readers who haven't read the forum post, here's a brief summary.
Item bought with an approx. 3-week delivery time - seller can't or won't deliver -
The seller does not respond to questions - after the purchase, the delivery time is simply extended by months - eBay message confirms the extension of the delivery times, as there were difficulties in connection
with the seller - according to eBay, a case for non-receipt can only be opened in July - but I can ask the seller to reverse the sale.
It seems that action is being taken very much to the buyer's disadvantage here, in a one-sided way.
Since no case can be opened on eBay, I opened one with PayPal.
My question: The seller did not respond to my inquiries, after the Saturday phone call at eBay promised, contacted the seller, and there has also been no response so far to the PayPal case.
Why is the seller still active here? They are selling - you can see that from the fact that the listed offers are decreasing and the seller is also leaving feedback.
You are aware of the seller's behavior. Wouldn't it be time to protect customers,
and not just push consumer protection back by months.

Hello @Anonymous ,
You had already received a reply from customer service about this. (Subject: According to eBay, seller has extended the delivery time by several months
It is difficult to provide public information that concerns a seller or third parties. The good thing is that buyer protection applies to you. Of course you can now wait for the seller to respond after all, or then withdraw from the purchase. There are different reasons why something like this can happen. Perhaps something else has happened that the seller also cannot influence?
Correct, of course it would be better if they simply communicated with you, at least to provide information that you will still receive the item or to agree to cancel the purchase. We are happy to keep an eye on it, or if you don't have a solution later / in the future, please get back in touch with us here or with customer service.
Best regards
Patrick
