💬 Welcome to the general eBay Q&A on 13/03/2024 at 2:00 PM
Hello everyone and ❤️welcome to the eBay Q&A session with the eBay Community Team.
As we don’t have a special topic this week, please feel free to ask your (general buying or selling questions only, please don’t post topics already covered by other members) here.
To help us answer your questions more quickly, please choose one question per post. Of course, you can write as many posts in the eBay Q&A session as you like - in fact, we’d love that!
The Q&A session will remain open until 3:00 p.m. After that, it will be closed to further questions. Of course, we will continue to do our best to answer any questions that may still be unanswered – please give us some time, as we often need to ask other colleagues for support so we can get the correct answer for you.
To post your question, click Reply in the lower right corner of this post, enter your question, and click "Reply" between 2:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m.
The format of the eBay Q&A session reflects the format of our community discussion forums, where all posts appear chronologically. The Community Team answers each incoming question in that order and then quotes the original question in the respective reply. This quote and the reply appear later in chronological order and therefore further down.
IMPORTANT: even though we use the discussion forum format, the Q&A session is separate and solely for individual members’ questions only and not for starting discussions - please use our discussion forum.
If you unfortunately missed the eBay Q&A session, we’d be happy if you post your question directly in the Community or simply wait until the next Q&A session*.
Kind regards,
Your eBay Community Team

·2 years agoI acknowledge that my questions are not being answered comprehensively.
Instead, you apparently formally fall back on the argument that, despite waiving the item vis-à-vis the buyer, I did not pay for the return shipping.
Where does it say that I have to take back an item that arrived damaged?
What did I buy a shipping ticket with transport insurance for on Ebay if then I bear the risk?
Why do you allow the buyer - neither promptly nor within the deadline - to contribute almost nothing toward clarifying and resolving the allegation?
Why does Ebay decide against me over my head without asking, even though the history in the system is transparent?
My impression: This means that a long-standing good customer/seller with the best ratings is now being treated by Ebay like a fraudster and repeat offender based on one case.
;-(
I won't just let this rest ...

·2 years agoHi,
I have a question about the relative share of sales through standard ads.
Of all views on my listings, about 30-50% are organic. The remaining 50-70% are accordingly through standard ads or external links. So far, so good.
Of all purchases, however, only 12% are organic, a full 88% come from a click on an ad, meaning with the ad fee deducted (often the full 20%, but that’s another topic).
These data are only from this year. One might think this is just a dumb coincidence and the time period is too short, but no: when I look at the data from last year, I get a result with exactly the same trend.
How can that be? Why are disproportionately many sales being charged with ad fees?
What would make sense to me would be a rate of sales with the ad fee deducted of also 50-70% instead of a hefty 88%.
Many thanks in advance for any helpful input!

Hello @canveo ,
it’s actually logical, isn’t it? If you promote your offers more through ads, then “more” gets sold that way too, compared to “normal”

·2 years agoHello,
I still have one question.
Do we have to agree to a request to cancel the purchase?
What happens if we don't do it and what consequences does it have for us as sellers, our rating, or can a possible negative review that follows be removed?
I would really like it if this could be explained sometime.
Kind regards
MyEatNordic
patrick@ebay
Hello @myeatnordic ,
as the seller, you can also رفض the request; the question is just what makes the most sense for you. Has it already been shipped, for example? etc.
This is how buyers can cancel a purchase
This is how sellers can cancel a purchase

Hello @myeatnordic, thank you very much for your valuable feedback, which I will gladly move to the designated area Suggestions and feedback on the eBay platform so that it also gets the attention it deserves and we can give you feedback on it after this question-and-answer session as well!

Hello @sommerglueck99 ,
if you mean your question whether it would have made a difference if you had enabled the return shipment or a partial refund? Of course

Hello @bogumila555, interesting question! I’ve asked the colleague directly and will write to you as soon as I get a response.
steffi@ebay
Hello @bogumila555, sorry for the delayed response to your question: if the member was already registered on eBay before 2023, we do not include the year 2023 in the calculation, as the legislator only requires a report for members who registered on eBay in 2023 and were then also over the limit in 2023.

·2 years agoHello everyone,
is it possible to store a SKU for shipping terms on eBay ? Our goal is to use this SKU to establish a connection to our inventory management system.
Thanks in advance!
patrick@ebay
Hello @elsinghorststahlundtechnikgmbh ,
I’ll try to answer by the end of the Q&A session whether there’s a way to do that. Otherwise, I’ll leave a follow-up answer later.
Best regards
Patrick
patrick@ebay
Hello @elsinghorststahlundtechnikgmbh ,
So there isn’t really a SKU for shipping conditions, or we misunderstood your question.
You also can’t, for example, store different shipping conditions in listings.
Best regards
Patrick
