Hello,

I wanted to list a gold bracelet 2 days ago, but I hadn’t listed anything for a while because I found it extremely confusing that you had to change the account type. When I listed it, I eventually came back to this point and I couldn’t set it to private, only as a small business. I thought, OK, eBay has changed a lot with reporting to the tax office, payments, etc. Maybe everyone is a small business now. Until I saw my address under the finished listing. When I asked here in the forum, I found out what had happened.

My question now: after calling customer support, I was told that you can no longer switch it back to private. Why?
I have never sold anything commercially; it was a mistake. Why can’t you change that back in your interface? That must be down to your programming, right? I know this is possible because we program ourselves.

That’s really super annoying, since I have good ratings and if I make a new account, nobody will buy anything expensive from me!

Hello @*samira*! We understand that you'd like to keep using your many good ratings in a private eBay account. However, changing the account type from "business" to "private" is not possible.

All that remains is for you to open a new eBay account.

I can understand how you feel in this situation - I'm sure your new feedback profile will soon look trustworthy again 🙂.

Thanks for the feedback, @leikvis_0! You can also reach us from abroad by calling the phone number listed in the legal notice.

We can also give you two tips here: Please send us the document in a good resolution, the information must be clearly legible, and the corners must not be cut off when photographing or scanning. If there is a second first name, please also store it accordingly in the eBay account settings.

The information on the identification document must match exactly the information in the eBay account. This includes first and last name as well as the date of birth.

Hello everyone,

I recently noticed that I no longer receive an email notification when I get a price suggestion from the seller for an item I’m watching, even though the settings in the notification options are unchanged.

Previously, I received the following message in my email program:

However, for example, I didn’t receive any message for this price suggestion:

Setting aside the incredible discount I was given here, why is that?

Could it be because, for the last price suggestion from a seller that I got an email about, I didn’t make a counteroffer when I declined that offer? I had already bought one of the four wagons normally when I received the suggestion - and I didn’t need the wagon twice, so I thought it would only be fair to decline.

But since then, I haven’t received any notifications since the beginning of 2023 and have already missed out on a few good offers because of it. After all, you don’t check your eBay account every two hours....

basically there is no problem, I’d need to take a closer look at your account and check it.
Privately I can tell you, though, that I only recently received emails regarding price suggestions. Could your email provider possibly have changed something so that this type of email is being filtered?

not that I know of, I also can't find anything in the spam folder. So far, only notifications from the forum have landed in that folder, but up until now, never anything directly from eBay.
