💬 Welcome to the general eBay Q&A session on 17/12/2025 at 2:00 p.m.
With the eBay Community Team & the Community Support Team
Hello everyone and ❤️-ly welcome to today's eBay Q&A session!
Since we haven't prepared a special topic this week, we warmly invite you to ask your general questions here about buying and selling on eBay.
❗ Please make sure not to duplicate topics that already exist from other members. Check first whether your question has already been asked.
🛠️ How the Q&A session works:
➤ One question per post
Please always ask only one question per post.
However, you can post multiple entries with different questions - that is expressly welcome!
➤ No new posts for existing questions
Please do not post follow-up questions or reminders to existing threads such as
„I'm still waiting for a reply“
„My question still hasn't been answered“
as a new post.
We want to keep communication clear and ask you to always stay in the existing thread so that no duplicate conversations are created.
➤ Q&A session time frame
⏰ The Q&A session is always open from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
After that, it will be closed to new questions.
Of course, we will continue to answer all open questions. Please understand that it may take some time - especially if we involve colleagues for clarification in order to give you the best possible answer.
✍️ How to ask your question:

Enter your question
Click „Reply“ between 2:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. to submit your question

·7 months agoHello,
have a case of item not received again with order 25-13870-87725
Item was marked as delivered on eBay. Since the case was opened on 05/12, there has been no response to 3 follow-up messages from me to the buyer. I now don't know what the best move is: either I leave the case open until it is automatically closed (when would that be?) or do I get eBay involved, risking that the decision goes against me? What would you advise me to do?
selina_b@ebay
Hello @itec-systems,
thank you very much for your question.
Your buyer has the option to involve us at any time. You cannot prove delivery, and the order value is over €20 and you did not send the item by parcel.
Best regards

·7 months agoHello @steffi@ebay and everyone else
In the seller cockpit "Manage all orders".
I’ve been buying the Hermes shipping labels more and more via eBay. You can filter the orders by these criteria
If a shipment with Hermes is stuck or isn’t/won’t be delivered on time, you can’t spot it right away. With the shipping carrier, overdue shipments (not received, address not found, at the parcel shop and not yet picked up, parcel lost, etc.) are generally hard to find or only after a lot of searching.
A filter like "Shipped - not yet delivered" would be helpful here.
Question: Can such an option be added, or does it already exist and I just can’t find it?
patrick@ebay
Hello @rest-fest ,
We’ll need to pass this along as feature feedback; there is currently no such filter.
Best regards

·7 months agoAnother question, straight to @miriam@ebay, since we had it last week😀
I wrote to this email address; so far neither a reply nor anything has happened with the person in question, and that kind of thing always really leaves a bad taste when there’s a lack of transparency.
Best regards

miriam@ebay
Hello Marc - we’ve just checked again and can’t find an email from you in our contactcommunity@ebay.com . Could you send it to us again so that we can continue looking into your report?
In general, sellers can take on multiple roles, for example manufacturer or EU responsible person. However, there is a clear requirement for the role of EU responsible person: the registered office must be within the European Union, including a valid address.

your address is correct, right?

I sent it again

miriam@ebay
Thanks, @mmstore74! The email is here now - we’ll have this reviewed at a higher level, but in principle we can’t confirm who the manufacturer of an item is, and we also can’t share any further information about our review result.
Kind regards

·7 months agoHello dear @community-team@ebay
This question is really meant seriously.
What criteria must be met so that you can send a price suggestion to a potential buyer on your own (Sending price suggestions possible)?
Kind regards
Marc
steffi@ebay
Hello Marc @mmstore74, the question is absolutely valid 👍 — since I assume your question refers to the fluctuations in possible price suggestions, which you already raised in September.
So that you can send a price suggestion to potential buyers yourself, the following requirements, among others, must be met 👇
🔹 Your item must be listed as a fixed-price listing
🔹 Update: The “accept offers” option in the listing applies only to offers from buyers to sellers — it is not a requirement for sellers to proactively send offers.
🔹 There must be interested buyers (e.g. watchers or users who have the item in their cart)
🔹 The item must not be close to the end of the listing
🔹 There must be no active offers or open orders for the item Update: No further offer can be sent to the same buyer while a previous offer is still active, and with multiple quantities, offers can be sent to different interested buyers
If these points are met, the option will appear automatically in My eBay ✨ (just like in your screenshot)
📘 You can also find the official eBay help page with all the details here:
👉Send price suggestions to interested buyers
I hope this helps you 😊.
@mmstore74 Marc, please see my updates in italics - Thanks 💛

·7 months agoHello @steffi@ebay
many thanks for your detailed reply.
Yes exactly, there are extreme fluctuations, or not just with the price suggestions.
What puzzles me a lot, and that’s also why I’m asking: why can I sometimes send price suggestions to "Potential Customers" even though there isn’t a single page view and not a single watcher, let alone anything in the cart?
Kind regards
Marc
steffi@ebay
That's why I also wrote, among other things 😉: Of course, this also takes into account that eBay internally also considers interactions that are not always visible to sellers 👀🔍.
These include, for example:
🔹 Buyers who viewed the item via search, recommendations, or external channels
🔹 internal signals in the system that indicate interest without this being shown as a watch or cart
As soon as eBay recognizes such potential interest, the option to send price suggestions can be automatically unlocked ✨. That shows you that eBay is trying to reach every potential buyer for your items 😊

·7 months agoHi, I sold and already shipped an item, but as a DHL parcel without tracking, and therefore I have no proof of drop-off or delivery. If the buyer later opens a case for “item not received”: Am I required in this case to fully refund the purchase amount?
selina_b@ebay
Hello @qiande-57,
thank you very much for your question.
Since you don't have a tracking number and can't prove that the item arrived at your buyer's address, you are obliged to fully refund the purchase amount.
As I see, you have already opened a thread about this and received a reply from a mentor. Further communication can take place in your open thread.
Best regards
Selina
