💬 Welcome to the general eBay Q&A session on 21/06/23 at 2:00 PM
Hello everyone and ❤️welcome to the eBay Q&A session with the eBay Community Team.
Since we don’t have a specific topic this week, please feel free to ask your general buying or selling questions here.
You’re also welcome to send me topics that should have a whole Q&A session.
To help us answer your questions faster, please choose just one question per post. Of course, you can write as many posts in the eBay Q&A session as you like - in fact, we want you to!
The Q&A session stays open until 3:00 p.m. After that, it will be closed to further questions. Of course, we will continue to make sure all questions that may still be unanswered are answered – please give us a little time for that, as we often have to ask other colleagues for support in order to get the correct answer for you.
To post your question, click Reply in the lower-right corner of this post, enter your question, and click "Reply" between 2:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m.
The format of the eBay Q&A session reflects the format of our community discussion forums, where all posts appear chronologically. The Community Team answers each incoming question in that order and then quotes the original question in the respective reply. This quote and the answer appear later chronologically and therefore further down.
If you unfortunately missed the eBay Q&A session, we’d be happy if you posted your question directly in the Community or simply waited until the next Q&A session*.
Best regards,
Your eBay Community Team

·3 years agoHello @steffi@, hello @miriam@,
could you perhaps take a look at my post Refund for returns in the forum for experienced sellers.
According to the eBay customer service, the process of partial refunds for partial returns is not предусмотрed, which I can't believe.
The procedure suggested by support outside the system seems very questionable to me.

·3 years agoHello,
as an additional note, here is the suggestion from customer service:
If a return is opened with the reason right of withdrawal, the seller can issue the refund minus the shipping costs to their business partner. However, since this is unfortunately not possible in the eBay system, to issue a partial refund, the seller can request the buyer's PayPal/bank details and thus issue a refund. You should then send the proof to eBay by email. This allows the return/case to be closed by eBay without a refund. I will gladly take your feedback as a suggestion for improvement and pass this on to eBay. As a gesture of goodwill, I have credited a voucher worth €10 to your user account. This can be used with your next purchase on eBay

Hello @petersmodellbahnstuebchen! I have actually already got your post on my radar for the next meeting with the people responsible, and we will make an effort to bring up the request for a better solution for handling the return of partial orders accordingly.
Of course it would be best if all money movements made for an order were traceable via the eBay system. Rest assured that we will continue working on optimizing the returns experience globally for everyone, so that we can also cover such cases better and more transparently.
Best wishes
Miriam

·3 years agoHello everyone :),
I use eBay in combination with Billbee and DHL business customer access.
Now it’s the case that through Billbee, via the business customer interface, I generate my labels for my sales to America. A CN22 is created at the same time. The CN22 then declares the sales tax withheld by eBay and lists it as a line item.
Now the business customer access is completely new to me. Before, I always created the CN22 by hand and stuck it on my shipping pouch. I found the following page:
https://www.ebay.com/help/selling/fees-credits-invoices/taxes-import-charges?id=4121&st=3&pos=1&quer...
I looked up the respective eBay tax code for the state, e.g. Texas -> and listed it as a line item: eBay Inc. – SUT Account Number: 3-20719-3415-5 -> withheld tax amount.
Now this SUT Account Number isn’t entered when I transfer the label via the business customer interface in eBay; there it basically just says Sales Tax. My question is, is it enough if I only write Sales Tax (amount), or does the eBay SUT Account Number for the respective state have to be on the CN22 so that it’s clear where eBay assigns the taxes?

Hello @3d-bruning and thank you for your question! Some more research and contact with teams in the US is necessary. Please take another look here at the end of the week; by then I should be able to provide you with more information.
We’ll also be happy to reply to your Community post from yesterday about this 🙂.
Update 23.06.2023: Unfortunately, I still can’t make a final statement on this - but rest assured that we are already in contact with DHL and with our teams responsible for Sales Tax, and will get back to you with an answer to your question as soon as possible.
Update 29.06.2023: After internal consultation, the Sales Tax amount on the shipping label should be sufficient. The SUT account number may not be transferable.
Thanks for your patience and kind regards
Miriam
