💬 Welcome to the general eBay Q&A session on 22/05/2024 at 2:00 PM
Hello everyone and ❤️welcome to the eBay Q&A session with the eBay Community Team.
As we don't have a specific topic this week, please don't hesitate to ask here your (general buying or selling questions, please not topics that already exist from other members).
To be able to answer your questions more quickly, we ask you to choose one question per post. Of course, you can write as many posts in the eBay Q&A session as you like - we'd even like that!
The Q&A session will remain open until 3:00 p.m. After that, it will be closed to further questions. Of course, we will also continue to make sure to answer any questions that may still be unanswered – please give us a little time for this, as we often have to ask other colleagues for support in order to get the correct answer for you.
To post your question, click Reply in the lower right corner of this post, enter your question, and click "Reply" between 2:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m.
The format of the eBay Q&A session reflects the format of our community discussion forums, where all posts appear chronologically. The Community Team answers each incoming question in this order and then quotes the original question in the respective reply. This quote and the reply appear later chronologically and thus further down.
IMPORTANT: even though we use the format of the discussion forum, the Q&A session is separate and solely for individual members' questions only and not for starting discussions - please use our discussion forum.
If you unfortunately missed the eBay Q&A session, we'd be happy if you asked your question directly in the Community or simply waited until the next Q&A session*.
Kind regards,
Your eBay Community Team

Hello,
I have the following question.
A buyer returned an item because the item was supposed to be a gift, but that item was already available, and therefore a return was requested, which was of course approved.
I refunded the amount immediately upon receiving the goods, however this return has still not been closed to this day ( 16 days have passed ) and even phone support cannot help me.
If I click on return details, I get the following displayed
You have issued a refund to the buyer
As soon as your refund has been processed, this return will be closed.(Refunded on 06.05.2024 )
We have noted that you had a problem with this return and reported the buyer.
The refund from me was 16 days ago and I have and had absolutely no problem with the buyer and the return and I did not report him either.
Although @sonja@ebay replied to me, I can't quite understand it
@sonja@ebaywrote:
Hello @mmstore74 , I've looked into the return request for you. You don't need to do anything else there, the matter is resolved for you. Most likely the request is still shown as open because the buyer still has the option of involving us. If that is the case, you still don't need to do anything. Because you issued a partial refund, the buyer still has the chance to involve us to claim the remaining amount. If that happens, we will cover the difference.
I was rated, I relisted the item and I don't understand why Ebay writes that I had a problem with the buyer and I also did not report the buyer as Ebay claims.

·2 years agoOk thanks @steffi@ebay
can I ask one more question?
I keep getting more and more private emails from people who receive price suggestions from me but can't accept them, and I've been wondering all year why I seem to have sent nearly 1000 price suggestions and only generated 2 sales from them.
patrick@ebay
Hello @mmstore74 ,
for that we would need examples in order to check it. There isn't a blanket answer for that. For example, were the 48 hours already up when the buyers clicked on them? At the moment, unfortunately, you don't have any open requests. In any case, we would need to know exactly what the buyers are doing in order to reproduce it or check it. We need a lot more information for this, and it would be best if the buyers contacted us about it.
Activate the price suggestion option for listings and send price suggestions to buyers
Best regards

·2 years agoHello,
Here’s a question for eBay: when is it planned to change the preset delivery times for letter shipments (currently 1–2 days)? Even before the new postal law, these were hardly ever met, but now that the post office can take more than 4 days, they are completely outdated. Sure, I could change the handling time from 1 to 3 days, but then I would drop out of eBay Plus. That would also suggest to my customers that I need 3 days to send a letter. Now, with every shipment, you run the risk of getting a defect for late delivery.
Best regards
Matthias

Hello @der-sparpreis,
we have forwarded it to our colleagues and will update you here accordingly.
It will probably be after the Q&A session, though.
Best regards
