💬 Welcome to the general eBay Q&A session on 23/08/2023 at 2:00 PM
Hello everyone and ❤️welcome to the eBay Q&A session with the eBay Community Team.
Since we don’t have a specific topic this week, please don’t hesitate to post your general buying or selling questions here.
You’re also welcome to send me, @steffi@ebay topics that should have a whole Q&A session dedicated to them.
To help us answer your questions more quickly, we ask that you choose one question per post. Of course, you’re welcome to write as many posts in the eBay Q&A session as you like - in fact, we encourage it!
The Q&A session will remain open until 3:00 PM. After that, it will be closed to further questions. Of course, we will continue to work on answering any questions that may still be unanswered - please allow us some time for this, as we often have to ask other colleagues for support to get the correct answer for you.
To post your question, click Reply in the bottom right corner of this post, enter your question, and click "Reply" between 2:00 PM and 3:00 PM.
The format of the eBay Q&A session reflects the format of our Community discussion forums, where all posts appear chronologically. The Community Team answers each incoming question in this order and then quotes the original question in the respective reply. This quote and the answer appear later chronologically and thus further down.
If you unfortunately missed the eBay Q&A session, we’d be happy if you posted your question directly in the Community or simply waited until the next Q&A session*.
Best regards,
Your eBay Community Team

Dear Sir or Madam, after a sale on eBay I received the following feedback from the buyer,
"fast delivery and very nice contact - slight signs of storage is however incorrect - the packaging of the figures is unfortunately really in very poor condition with partly very heavy signs of storage, creases and damage - just about acceptable for the price but not really suitable for collecting as new in original packaging - the condition of the packaging is worse than in the pictures which suggests that the pictures were taken a long time ago. All in all just about OK"
and requested the deletion of the buyer feedback.
The deletion of the buyer feedback was rejected.
The statements about the condition of the outer packaging (not the purchased item) are a false accusation, which is not visible in the pictures I posted.
The fact that the defects, which relate exclusively to the outer packaging and not to the purchased item, are not visible in the pictures was justified with the false accusation that the pictures were taken a long time ago.
Could you please tell me the reasons that led to your rejection of my request to delete the feedback.
Furthermore, I would like to politely point out that, in particular, the statement
"The condition of the packaging is worse than in the pictures which suggests that the pictures were taken a long time ago"
is an impermissible negative review.
I would like to ask you once again to delete the buyer feedback.
Kind regards
belisar73

Hello @belisar73, I can understand your annoyance. You have 618 ratings, one of which now seems negative to you. This neutral rating (which we will not remove) has no impact on your service status because it is not negative! It simply expresses that while the buyer is satisfied "fast delivery and very friendly contact", they also have a few points where they would have expected something different. And this is also the reason why we are not removing the rating: we know the item and in your case its packaging does not, and therefore cannot judge whether your information or the buyer's is correct. We just want our rating system to remain as meaningful as possible. Accordingly, you also reacted completely correctly with your comment on the rating, and this allows other members to form their own opinion.
At the latest in 12 months, this neutral rating will no longer appear in your profile.

·2 years agoHello @steffi@ebay
Just a question about bid retractions, it was already a topic in a thread today, I had this on my radar a few years ago as well.
Is there not the possibility on the programmers' side to create a feature, similar to the non-paying buyer options, that allows sellers in their settings to block bidders with x or more retracted bids from their listings?

Hello @oskar_der_wikinger, a really annoying topic, but a really good suggestion! I'd be happy to pass this directly on to the relevant colleagues! Many thanks for that 😍.
