Welcome to the general eBay Q&A session on 23/10/2024 at 2:00 PM
Hello everyone and ❤️ welcome to the eBay Q&A session with the eBay Community Team.
Since we don’t have a specific topic this week, please don’t hesitate to ask your (please not topics that already exist from other members) general buying or selling questions here.
To be able to answer your questions more quickly, we ask that you choose one question per post. Of course, you can write as many posts in the eBay Q&A session as you like - in fact, we want you to!
The Q&A session will remain open until 3:00 p.m. After that, it will be closed for further questions. Of course, we will continue to make sure that all questions that may still be unanswered are answered – please allow us some time for this, as we often have to ask other colleagues for support to get the correct answer for you.
To publish your question, click Reply in the lower right corner of this post, enter your question, and click "Reply" between 2:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m.
The format of the eBay Q&A session reflects the format of our community discussion forums, where all posts appear chronologically. The Community Team answers each incoming question in that order and then quotes the original question in the respective reply. This quote and the reply appear later chronologically and therefore further down.
IMPORTANT: even though we use the format of the discussion forum, the Q&A session is separate and solely for individual members' questions only and not to start a discussion - please use our discussion forum.
If you unfortunately missed the eBay Q&A session, we’d be happy if you post your question directly in the Community or simply wait until the next Q&A session*.
Kind regards,
Your eBay Community Team

·1 year agoAnother concern:
why does the AI reject my complaint about a defect, as always?
Order no. 06-12192-67521
Sold on 13.10 shipped with Prio Tracking on 14.10
Which also leads me to the question: how will this work from 2025 onwards if there is no more Prio Tracking? Can timely shipping be proven with regular letter mail?
steffi@ebay
Hello @itec-systems, I used the time to take a look at your case. The final correct rejection (delivery should have been by 16.10) was made by a colleague - I know that our communication here is not very good and have already passed this on as feedback. The Priority option has no influence on the speed of delivery, which is very important. It only serves as protection in case of loss and as proof of shipment (your second question is therefore also answered). Based on your situation, I can only recommend extending the delivery and processing time if you continue to choose postal shipping, so that you clearly meet your customers' expectations and there are no disappointments regarding the delivery date. And I also know that you are guaranteed a positive rating if the item reaches the buyer earlier than stated!

·1 year agoIn the last Q&A I pointed out that a few false entries in the
Refurbished statistics led to me losing my Refurbished Status.
Patrick said he had “taken a quick look” and everything seemed to fit. That this isn’t the case, I have listed here in more detail again, but so far without any response from eBay.

I think Ebay should show a bit more seriousness and, in the case of legitimate concerns and a seller’s reasoning, help them when they are judged unfairly with consequences like these.
It’s really frustrating that eBay offers no more support for legitimate concerns and clear reasoning from the seller when you’re rated unfairly. Such ratings can have serious consequences, and it would only be fair if eBay gave sellers more backing here.
miriam@ebay
Hello @itec-systems! Thanks for pointing that out to me. As a representative of @patrick@ebay, I’ll be able to address this topic by tomorrow at the latest and reply to you directly there again.
But I do know that @patrick@ebay and @steffi@ebay have already shown you several times what best practice looks like and how you can behave in order to work as best as possible within our guidelines, which apply globally to all sellers. Asking again and again will not change our answers.
Kind regards
Miriam

·1 year agoSorry Miriam, but the last section isn’t quite right. Before, it was about the service statistics; the current issue is the refurbished statistics, and if here even JUST ONE SINGLE WRONG entry is enough to be over the % limit, that is nothing other than extremely unfair. The higher the absolute number of items sold, the less one or another wrong entry matters. Just like the product type itself will probably have an impact on this. So I wouldn’t be at all surprised if the pointless eBay AI here makes completely wrong assignments.
But as you can see, with around 50 items sold it’s already a huge problem if you have one unauthorized entry. The whole eBay system here is simply completely misbalanced. And these standard responses about “how I should behave” are, to put it nicely, not helpful, SINCE I CAN’T DO ANYTHING about the wrong entries!
miriam@ebay
We see your criticism, but so far no further complaints from other sellers in the community about this, @itec-systems.
Best regards
Miriam

·1 year agoJust because there are no (or hardly any) sellers complaining about it in this relatively small forum doesn't mean it's not a widespread problem.
But it's nice to see how little Ebay seems to care about the individual seller....it's really becoming more and more frustrating to sell on Ebay.....

@miriam@ebay & I'm here for you!
