·4 months agoHello @steffi@ebay
2 weeks ago (11.03.2026) I brought up the issue of VAT being charged to the buyer who lives in the same country as the seller. You might still remember.
In the meantime, I put your suggestion into practice and submitted an inquiry on this to the ESTV in Switzerland.
According to the latest update from there, there is a strong likelihood that this will be changed by the revised online law for platform commerce, and that goods sold in the same country and already imported and cleared for customs and VAT accounting will no longer be allowed to have VAT charges calculated by online platforms when shipped, regardless of what type of platform it is and from which country the platform is operated.
However, the drafting of this legal change is said to be lengthy and not expected any time soon.
The only tip that actually works is to claim the VAT back directly from the tax authority in Switzerland.
steffi@ebay
Hello @murmu67 😍 thank you very much for the update and for taking the trouble to ask the ESTV directly – super helpful! 🙌
That actually matches what is currently being discussed around platform taxation in Switzerland:
There are considerations to adapt the rules in future so that for purely domestic sales (CH → CH) – especially if the goods have already been correctly imported and taxed – no additional VAT should be charged by platforms. 🇨🇭📦
As you write, however, this has not yet been implemented and is still being worked out. Until then, the existing regulations continue to apply, according to which platforms must collect VAT in certain cases.
Your note about reclaiming it through the ESTV is therefore actually the most practical way at the moment 👍
Even if that is of course not ideal and means extra effort.
I will definitely take your feedback on board – real-world examples like these are especially important for making possible ambiguities or areas needing improvement visible. 💡
If anything changes here or there are official updates, that will certainly be communicated accordingly in the eBay information as well. Thanks again for sharing and for sticking with it! 😊✨

·4 months agoHello @community-team@ebay ,
A question about marketing/ price suggestions.
Under Marketing, price suggestions (new) are visible.
I always assumed that I would also see the price suggestions here that I have sent to customers. To explain it clearly, which price suggestion I sent to which potential buyer, when I sent it and for how many euros.
But that is not the case. Only the Sent, Accepted and Received ones can be seen in % or in the number.
Now I'm wondering, what is this view supposed to do.
Can anyone explain this.
Kind regards from stormy Switzerland.
miriam@ebay
Hello @murmu67! All I can say here is that this function is still new and may be expanded further. Have you already submitted your wish via "Your opinion counts" at the top right?
Best regards
Miriam

·4 months agoHello @miriam@ebay,
Sorry, now I’m totally blanking.
At the top right I only see " Ebay Café & Clubs".
I couldn’t find “Your opinion matters.”
miriam@ebay
Not in the Community, but directly in Seller Cockpit Pro in the corresponding tab, @murmu67 🤗.

Here you go:
Best regards

·4 months agoOkay, now everything is clear.
I haven't shared it there yet, but I will do that later.
Thanks @miriam@ebay

·4 months agoHi, I had to notice recently that with the ratings you now also MUST provide information about the product. It’s nice that you can rate products too, but in connection with rating the seller it’s extremely pointless, since you haven’t been able to test the product sufficiently yet. By now I have 4-5 sellers that I don’t rate because of this! So the rating system is useless, or the product information is not credible.
Why don’t you separate that?
steffi@ebay
Hello @amdbuster, thanks for sharing your experience – several people here in the community can currently relate to your point very well 🙏
It’s especially the combination of seller rating and product rating in one process that causes exactly the situation you describe for many:
👉 You can’t or don’t want to rate the product yet, but you would already like to rate the seller.
Important:
The product rating is generally not mandatory, even if it often appears that way because of the way it’s displayed. This exact perception (“I have to fill this out”) has already been reported multiple times.
At the moment there are different rating flows, including one in which the product rating was placed more prominently. However, this is currently being reviewed again, and tests are also planned to see whether and how this will be adjusted.
Your point about separating the two is definitely completely understandable 👉 I’m happy to pass your feedback along as well.
amdbuster
·4 months agoIt would be really great if that were separated. I know that ratings aren’t a must, but they’re still helpful and therefore pretty important.
steffi@ebay
I completely agree with you 👍

We look forward to your questions 😍

·4 months agoWho is Peter Bichmann?
Why can he demand new documents from me every two days and withhold my payout since March 10?
Who gives him this authority?
To me, this seems like pure personal harassment and racist treatment.
In February, I called about the case peterpeter62. In this case, I lost the TV and the money and also received a negative rating.
Back then, he told me on the phone that he would delete the negative rating.
In the end, though, only the comment was removed, so no one can change anything about it anymore.
The rating itself is still there.
After that, I called eBay customer service again and once again he was the person in charge.
He said he would send me a recording or proof of what was discussed.
In the end, all I got was a 0 KB TXT file from noreply.ebay.de.
Where can I complain about this?
Is this concierge service a joke?
How can it be that he withholds xx,000 euros of my money for 15 days and in the process asks for different documents every two days, even though I always sent him all the requested documents right away?

·4 months agoHello @topelektrohaus
I’d like to take a close look at your issue and review it.
As soon as I’ve finished that, I’ll get back to you here.
Kind regards
Samantha
samantha@ebay
·4 months agoHello @topelektrohaus
We have taken another look at the situation, and the request for documents and the review of payouts follow fixed processes that apply to all sellers - especially with high sales volume or when proof is not sufficient. In such cases, additional documents may be requested and payouts may be temporarily withheld.
This is not an individual decision and is not related to personal factors.
Removal of the review in question is still not possible. There are also clear rules here.
Kind regards
Samantha
