💬 Welcome to the general eBay Q&A session on 26/10/22 at 2:00 PM
Hello everyone and ❤️ welcome to the eBay Q&A session with the eBay Community Team.
Since we don't have a specific topic this week, please feel free to post your general buying or selling questions here.
You're also welcome to send me topics that should have a whole Q&A session of their own.
To help us answer your questions more quickly, we ask you to choose one question per post. Of course, you're welcome to write as many posts in the eBay Q&A session as you like - in fact, we'd even like you to!
The Q&A session will remain open until 15:00. After that, it will be closed to further questions. Of course, we will continue to make sure that all questions are answered, even if some may still be unanswered – please give us some time for this, as we often have to ask other colleagues for support to get the correct answer for you.
To post your question, click Reply in the lower right corner of this post, enter your question, and click "Reply" between 14:00 and 15:00.
The eBay Q&A session format mirrors the format of our community discussion forums, where all posts appear chronologically. The Community Team answers each incoming question in that order and then quotes the original question in the respective reply. This quote and the answer appear later chronologically and therefore further down.
If you unfortunately missed the eBay Q&A session, we'd be happy if you posted your question directly in the community or just waited until the next Q&A session.
Best regards,
Your eBay Community Team

·3 years agoHello Ebay team,
we have a problem with a return.
Return : 5221941478
Order : 11-09172-95048
The customer ordered a pump on October 3, then noticed it was the wrong one and started a return, so far so good.
The package was originally delivered to a parcel locker, where the customer never picked it up. It was therefore returned to us and the customer saved on the shipping costs that they would have had to pay under the T&C’s.
When the package arrived with us, we asked the customer several times to mark the package as shipped so that we could then report this return. The customer never responded and today the return was closed.
How can we solve the problem? We do not see why we should cover the shipping costs.
Attached is a screenshot with the tracking information. We have hidden the tracking number for data protection reasons, but you can find it from the order.

Hello @monica_nicoletti_ersatzteile! That's naturally frustrating. You can still send a partial refund via Seller Cockpit Pro. Would it work for you to use this route and refund only the actual purchase price minus the shipping costs? 🙂
PS - as an addition: Since eBay was not involved in the return request, no refund has been made yet.
Kind regards
Miriam

In the guidelines it still says >
Surprise boxes or cartons, where it is not sufficiently clear from the item description which items are being offered, must not be offered.
Does that apply to 15,000 listings?
https://www.ebay.de/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=m570.l1313&_nkw=mystery+box&_sacat=0&LH_TitleDesc=0&_oac=1
And can private sellers offer that in bulk too?

Hello @Anonymous and thanks for the opening question! It’s true that we want buyers to have clarity about what they’re buying so that problems after a transaction can be avoided.
AListings where the items offered are not clearly named are not something we like to see. Related items that are sold together cannot be called a “mystery package”; instead, they should be described as a “set”. At first glance, not all listings shown under this search term violate our guidelines. I will inform the responsible teams about your observation and we will review it. It can still be reported via the respective item page 😉.
Kind regards

·3 years agoEbay’s supposedly so great, new sales form is still causing problems all the time, and many users are complaining that it doesn’t work and, for example, item descriptions and pictures have disappeared! Doesn’t eBay notice that this new form doesn’t work? How many complaints does it take to change something about it?
patrick@ebay
Hello @perfect-sally ,
the feedback is not being ignored and will continue to be collected and passed on. We can’t currently say how or when something will be optimized or which adjustments will be implemented.
Best regards

·3 years agoThat’s clear to me, keep collecting until nothing more comes in and in the end it’ll be left as it is. There’s an urgent need for action now or soon, not in a few months. If the VK can’t list their items properly, eBay will also be able to collect fewer fees.
patrick@ebay
Hello @perfect-sally ,
maybe it’ll help then to address exactly where it hurts 😉
No, so far really everything has been taken seriously, but since we’re not constantly involved in all processes, something like a status or progress can’t currently be communicated either. Of course, we understand very well what that means for you or others every day.
Best regards

I will never understand why Ebay keeps introducing changes
that are not mature and apparently not sufficiently tested either.
The sellers are not beta testers!
For years, one change has followed another and Ebay is becoming
less and less user-friendly.
And then this is sold to us as something the customer (us) supposedly wants.
Hard to imagine that a single real seller had a hand in this new form.
Yesterday a forum visitor had a good idea.
Every Ebay employee should sell 100 items here once and then report back to management.
Then we would probably get the 2010 form again.

Hello @Anonymous ,
there are certainly many points where we would all agree. We’re doing our best so that you as members are of course heard.

·3 years agoIt has already been reported several times that goods are delivered too late / were delivered too late. For example, DHL says that a high level of sick leave is currently delaying deliveries. WHY doesn't eBay respond to this and still slap defects on sellers because of items delivered too late? After all, this has happened before, and eBay responded to that too! Here you regularly leave the sellers out in the rain, and removing the defects is still punished with ignorance! Train your customer service people properly and teach them some sensitivity too!
patrick@ebay
Hello @perfect-sally ,
since we work closely with our shipping team, we will point this out once again as well.
Best regards
Patrick
