💬 Welcome to the general eBay Q&A session on 28/05/2025 at 2:00 p.m.
Hello everyone and ❤️welcome to the eBay Q&A with the eBay Community Team & the Community Support Team .
As we don’t have a specific topic this week, please don’t hesitate to ask your (please not topics already posted by other members) general buying or selling questions here.
To be able to answer your questions more quickly, we ask you to choose one question per post. Of course, you can write as many posts in the eBay Q&A as you like - in fact, we want you to!
The Q&A will remain open until 3:00 PM. After that, it will be closed for further questions. Of course, we will still continue to make sure to answer any questions that may still be unanswered - please give us a little time for that, since we often have to ask other colleagues for support to get the correct answer for you.
To post your question, click Reply in the lower right corner of this post, enter your question, and click "Reply" between 2:00 PM and 3:00 PM.
The eBay Q&A format reflects the format of our community discussion forums, where all posts appear chronologically. The Community Team answers each incoming question in that order and then quotes the original question in the respective reply. This quote and the reply appear later chronologically and thus further down.
IMPORTANT: even though we use the discussion forum format, the Q&A is separate and alone only for individual members' questions and not to start a discussion - please use our discussion forum.
If you unfortunately missed the eBay Q&A, we’d be happy if you posted your question directly in the Community, or simply wait until the next Q&A*.

·1 year agoHi,
in my service statistics, the "Calculated tariff" is now being based on June 2024 - May 2025, although I should actually have had over 400 transactions in the last 3 months. Why is that?
steffi@ebay
Hello @itec-systems, I understand that in your service statistics the "Calculated Tariff" is being used for the period from June 2024 to May 2025, even though you expected over 400 transactions in the last 3 months. The calculation of the tariff can be influenced by a rolling process. In this process, the oldest months drop out, and the most recent 3 months of the previous evaluation are considered. For example: for the Calculated Tariff, the period August 2023 to October 2023 is used, which then comes into effect in November.
If the current calculation of the average tariff or calculated tariff shows changes over a longer period, this could be due to an adjustment of the evaluation cycle. It is also possible that transactions below a certain threshold are being applied or certain factors are not taken into account, which can affect the statistics.
Your next evaluation is coming up soon and it may well be that it will then calculate the last 3 months. 🤞

·1 year agoHello Community Team,
I sold a few cufflinks on Ebay for over 400 euros; according to Ebay, the buyer paid. I tried to contact them because I find it a bit strange that something is bought and paid for directly at that price without any contact, but unfortunately there’s no response. The buyer has made an above-average number of purchases in one month, and under the name in their address there used to be an account, but it is no longer active. Now my question is: am I covered by Ebay if the account was hacked, I send off the package now, and there isn’t a real buyer? In other words, can I be sure that I will receive my money properly from Ebay and that I won’t end up with the goods gone and no money? Best regards, Britta
patrick@ebay
Hello @umuriel ,
Well, I also buy a lot privately in different amounts, without any contact.
I would be happy if someone bought the cufflinks from me. 😁
But to your question, there is of course seller protection and if you ship with insurance, there is also insurance protection there. Maybe your buyer simply opted for a new account.
Best regards
Patrick

·1 year agoHello,
@community-team@ebay
my question today.
Why is it no longer possible to combine multiple purchases from the same buyer into one
invoice (checkout) yourself?
It used to be possible, because if a customer now makes several purchases (that was the case for me now) and always completes them directly, I have no way, if I send all the items in one envelope, to enter the tracking number for each transaction as well.
Best regards
Marc

Hello Marc @mmstore74, I'm sorry that you've run into this problem. It used to be possible to combine multiple purchases from a buyer into one invoice. However, this functionality was removed from the system to make processing and accounting simpler and more accurate. Unfortunately, this means that you now have to enter the tracking number separately for each transaction, even if all items are shipped in one package
mmstore74
·1 year agoHello @steffi@ebay that wouldn't be a problem either, but it isn't possible to then enter one and the same tracking number
steffi@ebay
Exactly Marc @mmstore74, since you can't retrospectively combine it into one transaction. Offering combined shipping (enable the combined payment function and specify the number of days during which items can be collected) for your buyers and also pointing this out is the solution here 🍀

·1 year agoThanks @steffi@ebay but if no one uses this or if it's a completely new member like me, the problem remains.
Then just try (if it's allowed by Ebay?) to add a note in the item description.
Would I be allowed to do that or would it violate a rule?
Kind regards
Marc

·1 year agoHello @mmstore74
Of course, you can point that out in your item description 🙂
