I also have a question about these special promotions. On the 15th, there was a promotion for private sellers: "exclusive 8% for invited private sellers." If I remember correctly, the 8% then applied for 6 months, and presumably it also doesn’t matter on which day you list an item (these 10% promotions actually only ever apply on weekends, when you often already have plans, and they don’t happen every weekend either).
My question: what criteria does eBay use to choose the private sellers who are invited to such a promotion?

Hello @zuckerdieb! The commission saver special promotion, where only 8% sales commission is charged, applies to private sellers registered on eBay.de who were invited by eBay and signed up for the promotion via the link. It is valid for all new and already listed items.
Our marketing teams regularly run sales promotions for various types of eBay sellers. Some eBay special promotions are offered by invitation only and can be activated by the invited users. I'm sure you'll be able to take part in a sales promotion successfully very soon 🙂.

can someone answer me whether Ebay also offers these promotions for business sellers? As a private seller, I kept getting, even weekly on weekends, the Ebay offer to take part in a promotion to get 10% of the sale price as points for shopping. Since I may want to sell commercially (used photo items), it is very important to know whether you can also use it and how often. I would be happy to use these points for my Ebay purchases and thus save quite a bit. If it is not offered to business sellers, I will have to think very carefully about where I sell commercially - Ebay fees are already very off-putting.

Hello @sopotx and thanks for your interest! The eBay points program is currently only available for sellers registered privately on eBay.de. However, for our commercial sellers there are ongoing other sales promotions where fees can be saved.
Special promotions are aimed alternately at different groups of sellers. Please make sure that you receive our emails about the special promotions and check the settings for this in My eBay under your notification settings. The communication is often also sent by our partner companies via email to their merchants 🙂.

·4 years agoDoesn’t ebay think that all this logging in and the codes still sometimes needed is a bit over the top? On 27/06/2022 as an example:
Boot up PC – log in solve 6 x Captcha and SMS code
Later click on payments – log in again and SMS code required
Right after that to transactions – log in
Then right after that to details – log in again.
After that to performance – and log in again
That means within barely 2 minutes, 4 x logging in and 1 x SMS code.
That’s not normal, you can overdo it too! Do you really want to drive away the rest of the users too? This definitely has nothing to do with security anymore, it’s make-work!

·4 years agoI’ll add something here - I open the "Payments" tab in the VK cockpit, I’m supposed to log in with my password, which I dutifully do, then click -> continue, and I’m supposed to log in again, and it goes on like that for hours, endlessly ....
The workaround was that when I click on the eBay logo, I get into "Payments".
But 15 min. later, the same story....

And I’m not the only one with this problem, and it has nothing to do with eBay’s caring security.
I also reported it to customer support, but apparently nobody’s interested?

an answer did come through right away, but in just a few minutes I can actually already update you.
As you describe it, a report has already been created and is being worked on.
Of course, it can’t be narrowed down in terms of time how long it will take.
