💬 Welcome to the general eBay Q&A session on 30/04/2025 at 2:00 PM
Hello everyone and ❤️ welcome to the eBay Q&A session with the eBay Community Team & the Community Support Team .
Since we don't have a specific topic this week, please feel free to ask your (please not topics already posted by other members) general buying or selling questions here.
To be able to answer your questions more quickly, we ask you to choose one question per post. Of course, you can write as many posts in the eBay Q&A session as you like - that's even what we want!
The Q&A session stays open until 3:00 PM. After that, it will be closed for further questions. Of course, we will continue to take care of answering all questions that may still be unanswered – please give us a little time for this, as we often have to ask other colleagues for support in order to get the correct answer for you.
To publish your question, click on Reply in the lower right corner of this post, enter your question, and click on "Reply" between 2:00 PM and 3:00 PM.
The format of the eBay Q&A session reflects the format of our community discussion forums, where all posts appear chronologically. The Community Team answers each incoming question in this order and then quotes the original question in the respective reply. This quote and the answer appear later chronologically and thus further down.
IMPORTANT: even though we use the format of the discussion forum, the Q&A session is separate and on its own only for individual members' questions and not to start a discussion - please use our discussion forum.
If you unfortunately missed the eBay Q&A session, we'd be happy if you posted your question directly in the Community or simply wait until the next Q&A session*.
Best regards,
Your eBay Community Team & Community Support Team

·1 year agoHello everyone,
@steffi@ebay @community-team@ebay
after a long time I finally have something to complain about again and I had 2 questions today, I hope that's allowed?
1.Why is it not possible on Ebay's part to pay out payments that come in over the weekend on the following Tuesday? I have my payouts set to once a week (Tuesdays).
That Ebay works with all the money is no secret, but holding it back for so long (10 days) is pretty rough.
2.Does Ebay actually still review reports, or has Ebay now shirked any responsibility? I made 3 reports and otherwise you used to get a message that it had been reviewed and a decision made, but you don't get that anymore at all. What has become of Ebay anyway??
We (commercial sellers) have to take care of everything ourselves or accounts get restricted, and apparently now everything, really everything, is just so completely unimportant to Ebay.
Kind regards and I wish everyone a lovely May Day
Marc

·1 year agoHello @mmstore74
I’d like to remind you again that you should please always ask only one question per post. Of course you’re welcome to ask several questions, but please use a separate post for each one.
To 1.
Would you mind giving me an order number you’re referring to so that we can look into this more closely?
Kind regards
Samantha

·1 year agoHello @samantha@ebay
nothing came in this weekend, but I mean generally. Even payments that come in on Mondays should, in this day and age, be able to be paid out on Tuesdays and be available, PayPal can do it, just not eBay 🤔
Best regards

·1 year agoHello @mmstore74
I took a look at your last payout from yesterday. Payment receipts from 22.04. to 29.04. were taken into account there, and the amounts you received over the weekend were also paid out.
Without concrete examples, I can't confirm your observation as stated or carry out a review.
Best regards
Samantha

·1 year ago....that’s just not true that payments up to 29.04.2025 were taken into account @samantha@ebay ,the items from 28.04.2025 were not paid out to me and will only be paid out to me on 06.05.2025.

·1 year agoHello @mmstore74
Here, 17-12993-07499 was sold on Saturday and paid out on Tuesday. So the weekend is still included in Tuesday’s payout.
Monday is generally paid out on Wednesday and therefore falls, in your case, into the payout of the following week. That is planned and intended.
Best regards
Samantha

Hello Marc @mmstore74, regarding your question about the reports, which are very important for eBay because they help make the platform even safer and more trustworthy.
For that reason alone, eBay of course reviews reports and responds to them. However, it may be that the processing seems slower or less transparent. eBay has various procedures and tools for identifying, reviewing, and moderating reports, both manually and automatically. For example, the use of automated systems to review content can lead to delays, especially in cases that require manual review to clarify complex issues.
It is possible that communication about such processes no longer happens as it used to, which could give the impression that notifications about decisions are missing. I’d be happy to check for you why you haven’t received any timely feedback.

·1 year agoHello @steffi@ebay
also, if I may be honest here, it seems to me as if eBay is becoming more and more opaque to the customer.
I've now been reporting someone since 2022 and, according to you, I'm supposed to keep reporting him again and again, about 25 times so far. At peak times he had over 8000 items online as a private person, currently around 3000, and nothing happens, and that is already a slap in the face for every paying commercial seller here.
Even people who violate YOUR principles so massively don't have anything happen to them, but if there's something wrong with a dealer, restrictions are immediately threatened or similar, and that really can't be right.
@steffi@ebay please just give me one reason why I shouldn't sell here only as a private seller anymore either, then I'm sure I'd be better off too.
Kind regards
Marc

·1 year ago@steffi@ebay And that's exactly what you report, right? If you regularly sell items in large quantities, you could be considered a commercial seller and therefore have legal obligations such as an imprint requirement and cancellation policies, and nothing happens from eBay😩
Furthermore, commercial selling offers tax advantages, such as possible discounts on eBay fees.????
steffi@ebay
Bold statement Marc @mmstore74 that nothing happens, because I don’t think you can judge how much is actually being done behind the scenes based on confirmed reports.
As for the tax advantages, it’s best to contact your tax advisor.
