💬 Welcome to the general eBay Q&A session on 31/05/23 at 2:00 PM
Hello everyone and ❤️welcome to the eBay Q&A session with the eBay Community Team.
Since we don’t have a specific topic this week, please feel free to ask your general buying or selling questions here.
You’re also welcome to send me topics you think should get a whole Q&A session.
To help us answer your questions faster, please choose one question per post. Of course, you’re welcome to write as many posts in the eBay Q&A session as you like - in fact, we want you to!
The Q&A session will remain open until 3:00 PM. After that, it will be closed for further questions. Of course, we will still make sure to answer any questions that may still be unanswered - please give us a little time for that, as we often need to ask other colleagues for support to get the correct answer for you.
To post your question, click Reply in the lower right corner of this post, enter your question, and click "Reply" between 2:00 PM and 3:00 PM.
The eBay Q&A session format reflects the format of our Community discussion forums, where all posts appear chronologically. The Community Team answers each incoming question in that order and then quotes the original question in the respective reply. This quote and the reply appear later chronologically and thus further down.
If you missed the eBay Q&A session, we’d be happy if you asked your question directly in the Community or simply waited until the next Q&A session*.
Kind regards,
Your eBay Community Team

·3 years agoHello, I have no idea how to open a topic here in the Q&A, so I’m just doing it like this,
Why are traffic, page views, etc. dropping so drastically for commercial sellers?
No matter what you do, you can’t get back into the green anymore, and the red numbers are sometimes around 60-70% in the negative.
I’ve already talked about it with other colleagues and it’s the same everywhere.
Can someone from@steffi@ebay or @patrick@ebay write an explanation?
patrick@ebay
Hi @mmstore74 ,
You can’t create a topic, only replies with a question 😉
I had already replied in the other topic earlier that the original error has been fixed for 4 weeks now. A drop in views can have many reasons & factors; I’m keeping an eye on it for now, but no further errors are known so far.
Best regards

·3 years agoWhy is the article attribute
"First edition" preselected/already filled in when creating a new article in the category Collectibles and Rarities/... / Pulp magazines... ? This doesn't fit many issues and is quickly overlooked.
Other attributes are not prefilled.
patrick@ebay
Hello @rest-fest ,
I need to do a bit of research on that; at any rate, there are currently no reports known that point to a bug. Could you perhaps give a few examples of which issues it happens with or not with? My first guess would be that because it's set under Collecting and Rare, it is therefore generally assumed to be a first edition.

any offer here changed from romance/love novels to category women’s series novels.
Default: first edition
This is always the case when creating a new item or changing the category from templates.
patrick@ebay
Thanks @rest-fest ,
I’ll take that on board.
You’d prefer it to be blank, or for no preselection to be made. But since it depends on searching for buyers, that may be the reason why the suggestion is selected directly as optional.

·3 years agoHello everyone!
For some time now, all of my listings have said: "Return shipping is free for eBay Plus members."
As far as I know, that wasn’t the case until a few weeks ago. I don’t offer any eBay Plus items.
My cancellation policy is therefore also not set up for eBay Plus. In it, I state that the buyer bears the regular costs of returning the goods in the event of cancellation.
Why is eBay adding contradictory passages here?
Is eBay now covering the return costs for eBay Plus members in the event of cancellation for all commercial listings?
patrick@ebay
Hello @rest-fest ,
correct, the shipping label is then provided by eBay, provided eBay Plus membership is available. Regardless of whether it is a Plus listing. You do not incur any costs yourself. For a buyer without eBay Plus, the return shipment then applies as stated by you.

·3 years agoBut then the cancellation policy isn't the issue. In the cost-bearing agreement, I don't have anything about/for eBay Plus members being free of charge etc. in there?
patrick@ebay
Hello @rest-fest ,
you don't have to, do you? The service is provided by eBay, not by you. As it were, you don't really have anything to do with whether the buyer goes and buys a label themselves or gets one through Plus. The notice is clear:
" Returns: 1 month return policy. Buyer pays return shipping. Return shipping is free for eBay Plus members."
Best regards
