Communication with the prospect
Summary: ohjq2544 reports difficulties communicating through the eBay system because the algorithm filters out private information. perfect-sally explains that eBay generally does not want extensive communication before a purchase and that the product description and images should be sufficient. The buyer purchases, pays, and receives the item without any major prior clarification being necessary.
private sale:
I have posted a sales ad as a private individual. So far I have never received any feedback on my ads.
An interested party got in touch via the e-mail/eBay system.
A conversation to clarify sales questions or transport questions fails because of the algorithm that filters out personal details ( e-mail address, phone number.) and thus blocks sending the message. ( The algorithm is working correctly.) How can the conversation be continued? What can be communicated to the conversation partner?

·3 weeks agoHello @ohjq2544 ,
for the ticket, you get the money once you’ve sent the ticket.
You should send the ticket with tracking.
For the refrigerator, you might want to mention the age in the description ?
The item is listed for pickup, and the postal code is also shown there.
As already written, data may be exchanged after the sale.

·3 weeks agoOn eBay, it is not welcome to communicate extensively BEFORE a purchase!
The process is actually quite simple: The seller presents their item with the best possible description and a few pictures and, of course, also states how they ship, where they ship to, and how much each costs. No further explanations are needed.
The interested buyer purchases, pays, and receives the item.
What is there to clarify in advance, anyway?
