Double listing fees
Hi,
There are discussions about eBay’s marketing system here all the time — whether they do any good or not.
But since when does eBay please charge twice? Basic listing fees + external marketing campaign? I thought that in that case at least only what actually drew the buyer’s attention to the item would be charged, and not both.
Because I find that really cheeky — eBay just takes a triple cut from one sale..
Kind regards

Hello @edv-solutions! eBay charges basic and external ad fees differently: basic ads are only charged if someone buys an item from you within 30 days after clicking on your ad, while external ads are billed on a cost-per-click model, meaning they already incur costs when clicked, regardless of the later purchase.
This is how attribution works at eBay Advertising
This can mean that you pay both for external clicks and for the sale attributed to the basic ad. On top of that comes the regular eBay selling fee, which gives the impression of multiple billing, but in fact these are separate types of fees with different triggers.
Best regards
Miriam
