From January 1, 2025, new regulations will apply to letters and parcels under the new Postal Act
Dear sellers,
the new "Postal Services Modernization Act" will come into force on January 1, 2025, and brings some changes that could affect your shipping. Please inform yourself and adjust your listings accordingly. Learn more about the new postal law
Letter delivery times
From January 1, 2025, 95 percent of Deutsche Post letters must be delivered within three days of being handed in. Previously, it was two days. Please adjust the handling time in your eBay listings if necessary.
Check whether, for faster shipping, you may want to send a parcel service or letter with the additional service Registered Mail (2.65 €) or Registered Mail, Hand Delivery (2.35 €). These services will generally continue to be delivered the next working day.
New labeling requirement for parcels
For parcels from all shipping providers weighing between 10 kg and 20 kg, as well as over 20 kg, a note about increased weight will automatically appear on the shipping label no later than January 1, 2025. This applies to parcels from business customers and private customers.
Price changes and new products
- The following products will no longer be available from January 1, 2025:
- DP Registered Mail, personal delivery only
- DP additional letter service PRIO
- DP cash on delivery
