Current customs tariffs for international sales to the USA
Dear sellers,
You have probably heard in the news about U.S. tariffs and are wondering what that means for you and your business on eBay.
We are closely monitoring how new U.S. tariffs and tariff policies affect buying and selling on eBay.
Since April 5, 2025*, buyers in the U.S. are responsible for additional tariffs on most orders over $800 and may also be asked to provide personal information to facilitate customs clearance of their orders.
It is important to note that delivery times for shipments may be delayed due to U.S. customs clearance. eBay will continue to adjust the estimated delivery date to ensure accurate arrival estimates for your buyers.
Tariffs, import fees, and personal information are generally collected by shipping providers after checkout is complete. These are excluded from the prices shown on eBay for buyers.
How will eBay protect you?
We protect you on eBay by removing negative or neutral feedback related to tariffs on these orders. For your transaction defects and your late shipment rate, we will adjust the rate of late shipments if valid tracking shows that issues were caused by shipping delays. The related defects will be removed.
We will continue to provide updates in the Seller Portal on eBay.de as we learn more about the impact for sellers in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.
Kind regards
Your eBay team
