Requirements for participation in the "Certified refurbished" program
Dear commercial sellers,
With our new eBay program "Certified Refurbished," we are making sure that our customers on our marketplace can more easily find and buy refurbished like-new items in some categories. At the same time, we want to reduce the number of returns for items that do not match the description for participating sellers. Learn more
Starting February 16, 2021, items listed on eBay with the item condition “Certified Refurbished” must meet our requirements for the new item condition. The review and approval is carried out by our program team. eBay sellers who qualify for the program are eligible to use the new item condition “Certified Refurbished" in their listings, both in the listing title, in the subtitle, and in the item description.
Requirements for participating in the "Certified Refurbished" program
To qualify for the "Certified Refurbished" program, you must meet certain conditions:
- You are the manufacturer of the product or
- You are a seller approved by the manufacturer. In this case, you must prove that you are authorized to resell the manufacturer's products.
- Your inventory meets the requirements for the item condition "Certified Refurbished”.
- Your service standard is good, you follow eBay policies, and you have a service status of “Above Standard” or “Top Rated Seller”.
If sellers do not participate in the program or their inventory does not meet the requirements listed above, the item condition "Seller Refurbished" should be selected. Terms such as "certified refurbished" or similar may not be used in the listing title, subtitle, or item description.
