Announcement of the new business identification number (W-IdNr.)
Dear sellers,
We apologize for the premature announcement of the W-IdNr. The feature is currently not yet available. We will inform you again as soon as it is available and you can carry out the verification.*
As part of our commitment to compliance with legal regulations and in accordance with the German Platform Tax Transparency Act (PStTG), all commercial eBay sellers in Germany are required to provide a new business identification number (W-IdNr) if they have one.
The W-IdNr. is created by appending "-00001" to your existing VAT ID number. It replaces the previous tax number and tax identification number for reports under the PStTG.
For example, your new W-IdNr could look like this: DE123456789-00001. The bold numbers represent your VAT ID number.
Since we have already stored your VAT ID number for other legally prescribed purposes, eBay will automatically generate your new W-IdNr accordingly.*
