The Platform Tax Transparency Act (PStTG): When will your data be reported?
Dear sellers,
under the Platform Tax Transparency Act (PStTG), which came into force on January 1, 2023, eBay is required to report your transaction data to the relevant tax authorities if you reach the reporting threshold.
Depending on the date you registered with eBay, the report will be submitted at different times:

From 2025, eBay will report everyone who exceeded the reporting threshold in the previous year, always in January of the following year.
Of course, you will receive a copy of our report to the Federal Central Tax Office so that everything remains transparent. A copy of your reporting data will be made available to you as a PDF file. You will also see an overview of all your transactions in a CSV file that only you receive. As soon as the PDF and CSV files are available, we will send you an email. In addition, you will see a notice about this in your eBay account.
However, eBay only reports your data to the Federal Central Tax Office (BZSt) in accordance with the Platform Tax Transparency Act if
- your sales on eBay within a calendar year after deduction of fees, commissions, or taxes amount to 2,000 euros or more or
- you have made 30 or more sales on eBay.
For sellers we must collect the following data:
- for natural persons, including sole proprietors, the tax identification number (IdNr),
- for legal entities (e.g. GmbH) and partnerships, the tax number.
