eBay survey: Pre-loved sales fund Black Friday deals and Christmas wishes
Summary: de.news@ebay starts a discussion about an eBay survey showing that sales of used items financially support Black Friday deals and Christmas wishes.
Dear sellers,
More and more people are using the sale of used items to create financial flexibility for special occasions. According to the new eBay study conducted in collaboration with ECC KÖLN, 34 percent of respondents deliberately sell off items they no longer need before Black Friday or Christmas. Among 18- to 29-year-olds, the figure is even 39 percent. One thing is especially clear: recommerce is no longer a niche topic in e-commerce.
The purchase of pre-loved items is also continuing to gain importance. 37 percent of respondents say they now buy used or refurbished products more often than last year – among younger people, the figure is even 51 percent. Price awareness and sustainability are the main priorities: Two thirds (66 percent) name the lower price as the main reason for their purchase, while 71 percent appreciate the more sustainable use of products and the good value for money.
The study shows that consumers increasingly understand recommerce as a smart business strategy for consuming more sustainably and with financial flexibility. Many use eBay to sell things they no longer need, and in doing so create budget for shopping on Black Friday or at Christmas.
For sellers, this means: pre-loved is not a niche market, but offers real revenue and growth potential. Anyone who makes use of the growing interest in sustainable consumption reaches new target groups and at the same time strengthens loyalty among customers. eBay supports you with suitable tools, insights, and solutions to further expand your refurbished business.
Successful sales on Black Friday and in the pre-Christmas season!
Best regards
