eBay.de, eBay.at, eBay.ch: Sales ban on bamboo melamine tableware in the EU & Great Britain
Dear commercial sellers,
The European Commission has put in place an enforcement plan with restrictions on sales in the EU and in Great Britain for food contact items made of plastic.
Food contact items made of plastic that contain bamboo powder or other ground plant additives not approved under EU Regulation No. 10/2011 may no longer be sold in the EU and in Great Britain.
In addition, bamboo products containing plastic may no longer be advertised with the following descriptions, as they are false and misleading according to EU regulations: “made from bamboo”, “natural”, “environmentally friendly”, “recyclable”, “biodegradable” or “compostable”.
Sellers who sell on eBay.de, eBay.ch and eBay.at can only offer plastic tableware containing bamboo in the EU and in Great Britain if it complies with EU Regulation No. 10/2011.
Unauthorized items will be removed from eBay.
