Reminder: General Product Safety Regulation (GPSR) in force since 13/12/2024
Dear sellers,
we would like to remind you that the General Product Safety Regulation (GPSR) came into force on December 13, 2024. It is intended to ensure the sale of safe products to buyers in the European Union (EU) and in Northern Ireland. Only changes to your listings are required, not to your eBay account.
The regulation requires you to provide the following information about your products:
- Contact information for the product manufacturer in the “Product details” section under the selection “Product manufacturer”
- Contact information for the EU responsible person (if the product manufacturer is not based in the EU) in the “Product details” section under the selection “EU Responsible Person”
- Relevant product information for identification (e.g. model number, images) in the item description
- Information on product safety and product compliance (especially warnings and safety information) in the “Product details” section under the selection “Product safety”. Certain pictograms/symbols or images can also be added here.
- where applicable, the CE marking in accordance with another regulation in the “Product details” section under the selection “Product safety”
You can find the information on the product, on the packaging, or in the accompanying documents. You can also contact the product manufacturer if anything is missing.
If the required information is missing from certain listings, we may temporarily hide them until all information has been added. This would limit the visibility of the listings in the EU and in Northern Ireland. Hiding the listings would have no effect on their sales history or placement in search results.
If eBay hides a listing, the sellers will be contacted by email and by message in their eBay account.
