Highlight of the eBay Top Seller Event: Presentation of the eBay Awards 2023
Dear sellers,
On November 8, 2023, the time had come again. At our eBay Top Seller Event at Club Theater Berlin, the eBay Awards 2023 were presented to six merchants with outstanding achievements.
From 500 applications, our jury selected this year’s winners in one of the following six categories:
- Social enterprise: Benjamin Cremer and Michelle Scheffler from Knacki.net, https://www.ebay.de/str/benjamincremer
Since 2018, Benjamin Cremer has been delivering food with his truck not only to hospitals, but also to nursing homes and correctional facilities. In the process, the professional driver came up with the idea of giving people without internet access the opportunity to order goods from eBay and others. This is how Knacki.net came about: patients, inmates, or residents of nursing homes can place their orders by phone, and Cremer takes care of the rest.

As a pioneer in the pool industry, Günter Kulitz made a name for himself in the Ulm region with his company “Schwimmbadbau Kulitz,” founded in 1964. In 2008, the shop started on eBay and quickly grew into a complete web shop. How important customer service is was recognized here right away: trained specialists with many years of experience take care of all inquiries quickly by email or phone. The commitment paid off: 74,000 items sold and 100 percent positive customer reviews. - Founder of the year: Oliver Schroeder from GEEplast, https://www.ebay.de/str/geeplast
Oliver Schröder turned his experience in 3D printing into a business selling decorative items for model railways. His company GEEplast has been running its own shop on eBay since 2022. He was supported by the 6-month Launchpad program. This enabled him to quickly increase his sales.

Trained draftsman Silona Klopp has been selling decorative items in the home & garden as well as clothing & accessories through her brick-and-mortar store since 2002. When her children started kindergarten, she founded her eBay shop in 2015, through which she has been successfully selling on the marketplace for 8 years. - Sustainable enterprise: Ole Groth and Michal Jankowski from chinchilla_pro, https://www.ebay.de/str/chinchillazerowasteshop
In 2018, the two e-commerce experts Michal Jankowski and Florian Nölling founded Chinchilla®. Their mission: they want to offer more sustainable alternatives for household products - without plastic and packaging waste. Top products therefore also include dental floss made from corn, cotton swabs made from bamboo, glass straws, or dish sponges made from luffa. Thanks to eBay, Chinchilla® now has a wide reach. - eBay veteran: Wolfgang Kolb and Stefan Weinzierl from Kolb Antik Ulm, https://www.ebay.de/str/kurprinz
In 1984, Wolfgang Kolb founded his art and antiques business, which has since developed into a fixture in the industry. Over the decades, Kolb has built up a strong network of collectors, dealers, and restorers around the world, giving him access to many outstanding one-of-a-kind pieces. His eBay shop “kurprinz” has over 37,000 followers. He sells around 10,000 items on eBay every month.
