July 2025: Shutdown of the Online Dispute Resolution platform
Dear sellers,
Since January 2016, the European Commission has provided a platform for online dispute resolution (“ODR platform”). This platform can be used for the out-of-court resolution of disputes between consumers residing in the Union and traders established in the Union.
As the ODR platform will be discontinued in July, you as a seller are no longer required to include a link to the ODR platform in your listings.
Please find out about the details of the new regulation, which repeals the existing ODR regulation.
What happens when and what do you as a seller need to keep in mind?
As of March 20, 2025, it will no longer be possible to submit complaints via the ODR platform. By July 20, 2025 at the latest, all information about cases on the ODR platform, including personal data, will be deleted and the ODR platform itself will be discontinued.
Since as of July 20, 2025 you will no longer be required to link to and inform about the ODR platform, you should delete all links, references and information in your eBay listings by then. You can also inform your buyers that after March 20, 2025 no more complaints can be submitted via the ODR platform, as it will be discontinued.
