July 2025: Shutdown of the Online Dispute Resolution platform (AT)
As you know, the EU Commission has so far provided consumers with an online dispute resolution platform (“ODR platform”) that can be used for out-of-court dispute resolution.
This ODR platform will be discontinued soon. Accordingly, sellers will no longer be required to provide a link to the ODR platform.
Here you can find the details of the new regulation, which repeals the existing ODR regulation.
What will happen?
From March 20, 2025, it will no longer be possible to submit complaints via the ODR platform.
By July 20, 2025 at the latest, all information about cases on the ODR platform, including personal data, will be deleted and the ODR platform itself will be shut down.
I’m a consumer, what should I do?
No action is required. You only need to know that this tool for out-of-court dispute resolution will no longer be available. For use of the eBay services, you can refer to the terms and conditions for handling complaints and resolving disputes.
I’m a seller, what should I do?
From July 20, 2025, item pages should no longer contain any information, links, or references to the ODR platform. Since you will no longer be required to link to and provide information about the ODR platform, you should remove the relevant links and information before July 20, 2025. You can also inform your buyers that after March 20, 2025, they will no longer be able to submit complaints via the ODR platform.
