New item conditions for used clothing
Dear sellers,
we are convinced that buying and selling used clothing offers many advantages and makes a valuable contribution to our environment. That is why we are adjusting the process for trading in used clothing items and introducing additional item conditions.
3 new item conditions for used clothing are available
When listing an offer for used clothing, only the item condition “Used” was previously available. From February 4, 2025 onward, you will have 3 options to choose from:
- Used: “Excellent”
- Used: “Good”
- Used: “Acceptable”
The existing item condition “New with defects” will remain available.

Like new, already worn, but with only a few or no signs of wear. |
This item has already been worn, but is in impeccable condition. Any signs of wear should be shown and described in the seller’s listing. |

Light signs of wear and/or visible defects. |
This item has been worn little and is in good condition. It may show light signs of wear, but all signs of wear or defects should be shown and described in the seller’s listing. |

The new item conditions help potential buyers better assess the condition of relevant listings before purchasing. Your advantage as a seller: you can avoid returns due to the condition of used clothing items.

The next step: please adjust your relevant listings
From February 4, 2025, you can select the new item conditions when creating and editing your listings for used clothing items.
Important notes:
- As soon as the changes take effect, the item condition of your existing used clothing listings will automatically be changed to Used: “Good” .
- Please review these listings to make sure the item condition honestly describes each item. If necessary, please edit your relevant listings and select the appropriate item condition. This can be done per listing or in bulk.
- If you use a third-party provider to manage your listings, our new item conditions will also be available in the respective tools.
Prepare for the upcoming changes by reviewing your listings and determining the appropriate item condition for each one.
As soon as the new item conditions are available, please edit your listings as quickly as possible. This will help you avoid returns and make sure your listings appear in the correct category.
