New EU directive on standardized chargers
Dear commercial sellers,
The European Union (EU) is introducing the common charger directive, which aims to reduce electronic waste. For this reason, a common charger type is being established for rechargeable devices. This directive applies only to commercial sellers.
As of December 28, 2024, only devices with USB-C charging ports may be offered and/or sold in the EU and Northern Ireland markets. In addition, these offers must include additional details. Commercial sellers must also offer buyers the option of purchasing an electronic device without a charger.
Please note that these new requirements do not apply to products that were already offered or sold in the EU and Northern Ireland before December 28, 2024.
